Der Ring des Nibelungen by Richard Wagner and The Magic Flute by Mozart are two musical works that made me see music as same as magick, I investigated Mozarts masonic past and I got very interested by what I could investigate, even his father was a Mason, from personal experience in my house my father told me to listen to Mozart while on school exams because it helps calm the mind, modern art cant sometimes compare to this Operas, Ive for example notice the interesting music Star Wars universe has but Im not a fan of the series of movies, Ingwie Malmsteen with the Japanese Orchestra was very good example of Neo Classic music. Its come to my attention just lately all this music with magical themes but for more grown up people, Ive heard from a russian friend the German Folk music, wich is more shamanic and very spiritual.

The magic you feel is the music influencing your emotional state. It's why the ASPCA uses Sarah McLachlan in their commercials, sad music over desaturated pictures/short clips of dogs in cages to make people feel sad and want to donate money. Or why you feel hyped when you finally get the scorpion tank and start destroying everything in Halo. Or why you feel scared when the suspenseful music starts playing in a horror movie.

It's all just designed to convey emotions.

About emotions is very true, also there is always a spiritual link to music, as if it where done to adore a deity.

(Carmina Burana by Carl Off) from the score of

which gives you a link to the Antichrist, and of course the granddaddy of all dark occult music featuring the Devil's Interval which makes it so scary... simply blew me away when I was fourteen or so. In my opinion the best song to give you a taste of theistic Satanism:

I read in a Islamic/gnostic book on music that music affects directly the soul and change its state and it's vibration

Actually the subject of this topic
It's the subject that I'm trying writing a book about it from various sources and aspects

Fun fact… The magic flute by Mozart was played during a Daffy duck cartoon/movie where he joins a secret organization and it very heavily implied that it was a masonic organization and the music was an initiation right as he graduated to becoming a member or in the case of masons… (if I remember correctly) once they complete the initial 3 steps to become a master mason where they are formerly welcomed.
shrug- fact check me but I’m pretty sure that’s all correct. I may have gotten a slight detail wrong.

I made this thread because music is something that got me into magick and now that you mention Looney Tunes secret societies, yes cartoons have also inspired me in my search for true magick. I wanted to tell you that Gustav Holst gets recommended in Planetary Magick book by Denning and Phillips.

This reminds me of a book I have about Psychic selfdefense where the aura has to be strenghten because a noisy neighbourhood can mess with your aura, like watching a horror movie, with all the drama and the music creating tension, yes, I think art in general used to be very beautifull but now we get horrible art at many places, or I honestly dont like Satanism and I see it a lot being source of inspiration for many arts,

I enjoy the band Sleep Token for my meditation and Ritual workings. I find myself getting lost in their instrumentals and voice quite often.

I like it, it reminds me of the dark ambience in games like Silent Hill, but I like more music like Midnight Syndicate, wich I will try leave a music video about, that Neo Classic music with gothic sound is something I would love to produce, I try but Im not a profetional.

There has also been a discussion whether meditating to music was meditation at all... being completely alone with your own mind in total silence can be just as frightening as listenig to eery music:

I usually go for pure tone, binural pure tones or a classical artist (nothing with lyrica’s) you want your own thoughts 👍 listening to classical sparks your imagination and brings a more “in the moment I am experiencing this” and life kind of echoes that when meditating in nature. 🤷‍♂️

"is there any music which is dark and occult that you recomend?" was the question, who said anything about meditation?

Ah Ive been practicing those things you mentioned here, I also would like to share El Hadra - The Mystik Dance by Mathias Grassow and Klaus Wiese, it was to me that spiritual Middle Eastern music I use for meditation and just to lower my vibrations, I have attention defficit disorder and hyperactivity and is that Sufi inspired music that helps me chill down and focus on many tasks, like when I also study from the books I have.
