If a ritual requires purity, do I really need to isolate myself for nine days? Is there another option?
Yes, and more than just sexual abstinence. Spiritual purity prior to communion with the spirit world is a big deal in rituals all over the world. Maybe it helps to think of those requirements as something other than self denial, but as a redirection of purpose. When you decide to do XYZ with a conjuration, you choose that spirit or sigil or spell because you have concerns or frustrations: baggage of some sort attached to that desire. All that baggage is part of why you now need the XYZ solution, so you set it aside. Your sexual appetite, yes, but also your appetite for junk food, entertainment, arguments about politics, and a whole lot of other meaningless and maybe unhealthy stuff that we do as people. Approach the spiritual work as your own self, a spiritual being whose will is unmoved by the demands of the flesh. If a ritual requires purity, do I really need to isolate myself for nine days?

Go off-topic, use a foreign word, or attempt a witty aside. They ban your ass for thirty days, and you came back ritually pure.If a ritual requires purity, do I really need to isolate myself for nine days? Is there another option?
Good question. This is what i do because i have addictions with cigarette, in the Nine days purification period, i lower my smoking, example 15 cigarette a day to 5 if that makes sense? I do not follow the nine days purification to the dot but do your best, it means something to lower the addicitve things for this period, try your best, don’t forget alot of prayersIf a ritual requires purity, do I really need to isolate myself for nine days? This may be controversial, however, purity is a ritual within itself, and attempting it before experiencing, experimenting and fully understanding the nature and purpose of the influences which we wish to purify can have devastating crystalizing results which can wreak havoc upon our lives. That being said, incorporate purity (in this case abstinence from some impulse) into your daily life. The easiest way to do this is to channel all impulses into creative projects or physical outlets before attempting to purify them. It is much easier to purify something that has been set to its intended purpose than it is to purify something which we unknowingly abuse or have not yet developed. I hope this helps. If a ritual requires purity, do I really need to isolate myself for nine days? Is there another option?
