I have two pendulums, or feral sorcery items used as pendulums (one is a pocket watch chain (non magnetic), the other is a cufflink (magnetic).
By magnetic I mean it sticks to a magnet.
I noticed I get a lot more direction from the magnetic pendulum, even before testing against a magnet based on magnetism or electricity as the energy type.
It would go clockwise over one card, counterclockwise over another, left and right on this, up and down on that.
Fascinating.
So, which should be used with anything needing a pendulum?

I used to use a magnetic one as well, never been a big fan of the stone/crystal ones.

In our folklore a ring or a key was traditionally used, hanging on the woman hair.

I personally use a quartz pendant pendulum, because I had a quartz pendant and I decided to use that lol.

I found it pretty reliable in some cases, I do use magnetic ones and they tend to be more responsive honestly than a crystal or a stone one.

Yeah, a friend and I each bought a lapis lazuli (I sprung for it) crystal on a chain, hers silver, mine gold.
Never got much out of it, but Lighworker extraordinaire did.

I think I will use the cufflink with guessing court cards.

A ring I can definitely see, the ring is an icon in history of magic.
A key I never thought of, but it does convey two things to me - authority, ability to lock/unlock a door or box.
