I am interested in learning planetary magick and would appreciate recommendations for solid books, teachers, or systems that you consider reliable.

I am also very interested in hearing personal experiences. If you have practiced planetary magick, I would like to know what kind of results you noticed and how it showed up in your life.

I am looking for practical insight rather than theory, especially from people who have worked with it consistently.

This is a cool thread to watch, Im also interested in what others experienced. I only have one experience with planetary magick, so perspective from others would be cool.

Planetary magic has different perspectives and different systems; it is about the same 72 astrological decans, the zodiac signs, and the seven ancient planets. It has multiple axes, including the worship of those planets as entities—such as the worship of the seven planets, offering sacrifices to them, seeking proximity to them, and prayers, as found in the book The Magic of the Moon or Tangalusha regarding planetary images. Or, through a more recent history, from the projections of deities that relied on the same planetary powers and were attributed to them. Or, in a final phase, the existence of angels as in the 72 angels of the Shem HaMephorash and their 72 demons. Or in the persons of the angels of the seven planets and their earthly kings. Generally, adjusting the timing here is the "Key" to which everyone has adhered, despite the intense divergence of each faction.

To start with, you should meditate on the planets. Insights gained through meditation and insight generally are more useful than a what you read from a book when it comes to magic. Meditate for insight, feel the paths, explore what you learn, and repeat with your new understanding.

Absolutely. One might also add planetary squares to the meditation and do it in a corresponding day of the week.
Every planet relates to some psychic function - finding that in you will help you understand more.
Seeing planetary themes in the world around you is a useful practice.
Ultimately you'd do well to start with yourself - make your natal chart, explore it, and see if you can improve it.
And if you can find a good astrologer to study and follow, that will give you more data to work with, but I already had a bunch of great ones in my native language, so I didn't look for more in English.

You could always invoke each planetary force into it's corresponding chakra in one master ritual. 🤣 (Dont do that! Hello Kundalini, Hello new medication to keep me from talking to my hands.)

The tree of life(Sefirot) and the hexagram corresponds to the 6 planets+sun with it's 7 points. With that you can invoke and banish the planetary energies into a magickal circle.

Macrocosmos is always through the hexagram and in Unity or One consciousness. While Microcosmos is always through the pentagram or diversity.

Do that. It's what those centers are for (in my opinion). It's how I do
I was half joking. For me personally, I dont want to do anything that would remotely stir Kundalini. Just personal preference.

Do you start from root then move up? Or Crown down to root when you do it? Direction should matter here right?) In one sitting? Do you ever feel overwhelmed? Have sleep issues, or loss of appetite as a result? Which planetary force impacts you hardest? Not trying to pry, just curious how it affects you. If too personal, I totally get it.

I personally start with the heart, then go up, then back to heart, then down. This may not even remotely make a difference in reality, but in my head the logic checks out lol. I also dont do it all in one ritual. I invoke one or two at a time for each ritual, so more individually focused at each center.

I hate the term chakras and really think of / see them as planetary centers. Usually I go from top to bottom, like in the Middle Pillar but recently I too (like you) start with the sun in the heart. Then first connect it to the planets in the room outside (Mercury in front / east, Mars to the right, Jupiter back and Venus left using Enochian planetary Godnames) the Sun feeds those as he is the first. Then draw them into a pillar inside of me, with the letters of my birth angel and let it run up and down.
Lots of energy, and when I do do it in the evening there's little and short sleep.

Im glad you clarified. Invoking is no shit with planetary forces, and I really think if someone doesnt already have some sort of practice with those energy centers before hand, there are real physical, nervous system type issues that can result if charging in and invoking from Root to Crown when you dont have some sort of coherence first. Being stable is super important, if not, the risks are real.

I like how you lay it out though, thoughtful in the way you explained it. Was that a natural way of doing it for you? Or a creative/intuitive thing? Or did you tie to your system of magick? Pretty cool actually. I might try it that way.

I just invoke and ride it out. Let it do what it needs to do. Since I dont do all 7 at once, Its faster, and customizable. I did experience super heavy grounding after invoking Saturn the first time, I lost some motivation for about a week. I just felt deeply rooted, but not motivated. Maybe if I invoked Mars with Saturn I would have had a better, more balanced experience. I do that now by the way, so no one force dominates. I wish I payed more attention to it on a continuous basis, I could probably avoid burnout, feeling overwhelmed, afraid to speak truth, etc. This thread is a killer reminder!
