Backstory​

I recently had an experience where 3 people including myself heard a sharp, loud, alarm/siren type sound coming from an area. It almost sounded like a car alarm was blaring about 50m away. After about 30 minutes of trying to figure out where this sound was coming from, we noticed it was loudest near a particular plant (a tomato plant). One of us kicked the flower pot the plant was growing in, and the sound stopped, and started again. Then I kicked it harder, and that moved the pot, and the sound stopped completely. We THOROUGHLY checked the pot and nearby pots for bugs, frogs etc. there wasn’t a visible living thing in sight. The pot was damn (presumably watered that day) but we couldn’t figure out what was making that sound. It was very loud. I salted the entire area.

Question​

While googling about this, I saw a mention about “pot ghosts”. I was wondering if any of you have heard about this, as searching for it shows pretty much nothing. Have you experienced phenomena like this? I’ve heard of plants making noises in frequencies humans can’t hear, and I’ve heard of watered soil making soft sounds as water pushes out the trapped air in the soil. But none of those overlap with the extremely loud, blaring alarm-like sound we heard.

If someone else was telling me this I’d definitely send them a link to a schizophrenia hotline, and if it was just me who heard it I would be doubting myself. But it was a group of us and none of us can figure it out.

Thoughts appreciated.

EDIT: I mean specifically have you heard about “pot ghosts”?

Not about haunted house pots specifically but this relates to how objects can be made to be haunted:

The ATR Palo Mayombe from Cuba makes necromantic ghost pots on purpose.

They usually contain human remains called 'nfumbe' , but also a lot of other ingredients designed to form an astral-etheric matrix for the intelligence, called the Nkisi, they call into the pot to have as a home. The care and feeding of these ghost-buddy pots is part of the cult's secrets.

Is also common practice in Hoodoo / Conjure to make spirt pots out of metal buckets.
