I'm not aware of having any power animals or other familiars, though I have on occasion seen animals in dreams. One dream I wrote down in the last month was quite unusual for me:
"The building structure had a clean design. There were places with many plants, like a greenhouse perhaps. I was watching as a dark green lizard, like an iguana, climbed over some plants. It seemed rather large, and I kept watching it carefully. This lizard walked and climbed on all four of its legs. It seemed to be wearing clothing. From its neck on down there was a close-fitting, brownish jumpsuit. It occurred to me that a large wild lizard could not pull on or remove such clothing by itself, so how would it pass excrement? It was feeding on things in the plants, and I watched as it grabbed a chunk of plant material in it's large mouth. I saw a small lizard caught up in the leaves. The big lizard did not chew, it simply swallowed what it grabbed whole, as a reptile does. Then it started moving closer to where I was. I wanted to take a photo of it since I hadn't seen anything like it before, but I didn't know where my camera was. As it got much closer, it seemed to be standing on its hind legs, like a humanoid. It no longer wore the clothing. The lizard was now more green and huge, and it seemed to notice me laying in bed. The walls had no ceiling, and it climbed over them. But at the door, it went over the wall and seemed to play with opening and closing the door for a moment. Then it came down outside the room and back into it through the door. It sat down on the bed beside me. Its head was large, and while it didn't threaten me that I could tell anyway, I couldn't move from fear. I thought maybe it could bite my head off with its powerful jaws. In a moment of desperation, I decided to frighten it away. In an instant I threw my arms out to either side as if to make myself appear larger and more threatening. The suddenness of the motion and emotion woke me up."
If only it had been a lucid dream. I wonder what might have happened if I hadn't panicked.
