Having been exposed in the past to Pentacostal bizzareness, a lot of stuff was called 'prophesy', but a great deal was hysteria.

I think it is simply pertaining to psychic abilities with a different christianised name.

I did see a few though who were authentic, foretelling future and encouraging, even if everything was likely called 'Jesus' doing so.

My question is, in the western esoteric system, If I wanted to learn about prophesy as occultists would call it, safely and sanely, what are some resources to do it?
Maybe there are other systems?

I have huge potential for doing this, and am wondering how to make this work for me. literally, in this case to earn something. This is not really about money, but I have to pay for things somehow.

I only heard that all the best psychics use their divination system of choice (tarot cards, geomancy stones, etc.) only as inspiration for their intuitive insights - which demands a thorough study of that system first, of course.

Additionally, advertising fortune telling services is illegal in some jurisdictions. Professional diviners usually circumvent this prohibition by offering 'life counseling' but even where there is no such prohibition, clients will usually expect some advice from you based on your readling, so any such service will typically not only demand divination but also people skills.

You could research Abraham Abulafia. I don't know if I would call it "safe and sane", but his methods have a rational approach and are rooted in an intense discipline which can connect a variety of systems. One could call it "high speed mysticism" which leads to direct communication with the Divine that confers the prophetic ability (and magic powers!). As to adaptation for one's self, I think it's really about getting the "gist" of it and personalizing one's approach with a steady pace so you don't end up going insane and liquifying your organs or something.

I did see a few though who were authentic, foretelling future and encouraging, even if everything was likely called 'Jesus' doing so.
My feeling is that there is something "out there" willing to share information with us if we can listen to it. However, the human personality with its cultural filters distorts so many things easily. Our expectations based on worldly needs and desires are often the biggest stumbling block. But it is really nice to hear a firm spectral voice tell you to get out of the way just before a speeding car hits you. Maybe that is validating.

I am definitely well tuned into prophesy and don't really need the cards to know what is going on. I had a dream about the first attempt on trump and the inner workings of whats going on. Suffice to say, it was 'allowed' to happen... I did not know what it was about at first until I found some free media talking about It.
Helps to have a tool to express what it it, as social is difficult for me but I can engage over something of interest. I expect people to see the mental pictures I can  It does not work that way unless they are also psychic.

I have had a firm voice give me strong instruction that I am thankful for in many situations, very good instruction that prevented calamity.
In fact I have come to rely on that sort of thing for many occasions. It is possible to abuse it, so I go on the side of caution. Helps with things like buying on an auction, or keeping emotional control in meltdown situation.
If I went the 'Christian' route, it's about edifying the church with positive future messages, even if it means saying something harsh to effect a future positive change. Think that applies to everyone outside also.

I ought to train somehow. It's about love, the love of God for people regardless of denomination. Love is the fuel, truth is the way.
Mind you, old testament Prophets were bonkers, but got the job done. How do I monitise Prophesy and it be love?

Like I said, you need to factor in client expectation as well - they'll be freaked out if you start prophesizing right off the cuff without any props but will feel reassured if you can point to this card and that, furnishing your own explanation as to its meaning, making it all (semi-)transparent for them to understand. You can't just tell them, "That's how it's going to be, good bye", they'll have follow-up questions and ask you for advice, how to avert their fate or change their lives, how to act, what decisions to make, and you'd better have answers for that as well.

You hit the nail on the head there. Social has always been a trial, especially regarding ASD among other things.
So I have to put on a show for them
Maybe dress up a little as well, mystic robes?
Seriously though, it would be good to learn one system for my own benefit, as I do like using tools and find contact with cards grounding. It would be a bridge for me also as it's much easier to engage over that.

As for being approached coldly and prophesied at, yeah had that experience. Prophets are a funny bunch, probably all autists
I agree, delivery and ditch is confusing and negative.

I will check out that Abraham Abulafia fellow.
