Protection spell that scares ppl. face to face?

Hello,

I had a little experience today where I thought afterwards - whats wrong with me not getting scared?

I walked through the city and cute little tents were set up everywhere, kids were giving out flyers to promote diversity.

Just a few minutes walking from there I walked into the situation of some specimen waving around with a knife,
he was held, but the other guy let go of him when he opened the knife.
I followed that engineer by jogging behind him a while to make it easier to catch him for the popo.
Anyways, hah, later I realized I might have risked a little more than i should have by running after that specimen.

Do you know protection spells and workings that go beyond ordinary?
I thought of something like they suddenly get scared when they try something with you.
I once saw a talisman of Uriel that went in this direction, it had a verse with "making enemies like sand below ones feet".

I know my idea might be wishful thinking, but i kind of like the idea of them seeing a scary face or something once they try to f with me hah!
That might not even be smart when someone is truly schizo and thinks he must get rid of "demons".

I just wanted to say by that that I thought about a protection that is more on the demonic side, or scares people by being a little more "dark".

A spell that scares people when they see you sounds doable, but I'd be very wary of using something like that for protection. Usually when people get scared, the fight, flight, or freeze instinct will kick in, and at that point your spell has turned into a gamble where you're left hoping that the person isn't a fighter in those situations. I'd wager that someone who's willing to pull a knife on others is a lot more likely to be the type to go on the attack once fear kicks in.

Calming spells tend to be pretty effective as a means of influencing emotions in others to protect yourself. If you really want a "darker" flavor to it, I'd suggest sticking to more muted and quiet negative emotions that aren't going to give someone the benefits of an adrenaline rush. Disinterest, futility, guilt, things like that. Just make sure you're practiced in not letting yourself be influenced by the emotions you're putting out if you're going for something negative.

For an actual method, I'd recommend making a simple talisman to carry:
  • I like to use stone or glass figures or draw representative symbols for the base of a talisman; you can use any object, but I've found it a lot easier to use something that represents the spell to me in some way.
  • Set aside time each day to meditate on shaping the emotion and the effect you want, and then focus on passing that into the object. Be specific with the details; you don't just want to cram a strong feeling of futility into something that you'll be carrying around, so make sure you're also focusing on things like who it affects, when it affects them, when it stops affecting them, and what radius it works in.
  • Keep doing that every day until touching or looking at the object causes you to immediately and intuitively recall exactly what it does. After that, you should only need to repeat the process if that intuition starts to fade when you're interacting with the talisman.

This is actually a really interesting perspective. At first I was thinking more in terms of strengthening my aura so people would naturally keep their distance, but what Eliyel explained makes a lot more sense in a practical way. The point about the fight reaction making things unpredictable. The idea of working with calmer emotional influence instead of fear is really interesting to me, and the talisman method I'll probably try and see how it works in practice.

Thank you for bringing me down from my little adrenaline, even if just subtle, trip that I had yesterday. It shows that I used less magick for everyday things in the last months, it totally makes sense to approach it this way, when I think about it it was exactly the approach I had when I was forced to influence some toxic people I had to get along with for a while.

In essence it may just be the forging of the desire by the will and not the other way around. Way more productive, i guess it was just that these kind of people make me angry and it sucks that they weren't able to catch this being.

It really makes sense to be the in tactitical terms "grey man" that everyone forgets.

I guess just being in this direct situation that had the potential to become a direct confrontation I thought about some potential help that, yeah, as I described, makes them think some more. Some things are just not completely solvable by working in the subtle realms.
I guess it's more and more about avoidance (like ordering online, moving to better countries or villages, using own vihicles etc.) and the gentle methods of ritual he mentioned, with a little mental hygiene that does not draw these things into the physical and, you know, some good ol' readiness and fitness.
