What is the purpose of the varieties of visualizations, and how do they help with topics like astral projection, soul travel, evocation, divination, etc?

Here is a trick to know what an electric blue pentagram in the air in front of you would look:

In an entirely dark room, sit with a small candle (in a glass). Light the candle, hold it in your hand and close your eyes for a couple of minutes.
Then stand up (eyes closed) and move the candle to your left hip.
Now open your eyes but keep looking straight ahead the entire time.
Trace a big pentagram with the candle, but keep looking straight ahead the entire time.
Never look at the candle or follow the movement of the flame. Keep your eyes fixed straight ahead.
You now see an electric blue pentagram before you.

Fair point. Any sport (para gliding, horseback riding, baseball, etc) would be challenging to say the least, by playing blind.
I get your point, great answer and summed up in a single sentence :)

This is actually a cool idea!

So in terms of the use of visualizations, what is a good visualization exercise for each of: astral projection, soul travel, evocation, divination, clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, as categories of different visualizations?

Example on astral projection:
The projector is to sit in a chair in loose, comfortable clothing, and imagine a blue bubble of electric blue light surrounding the projector.
This is just the visualization part.

Another for clairvoyance is that the person is to sit comfortably in their room, and scan each area of the room, as in quadrants, eyes closed, for the items that exist in that quadrant, eyes open to confirm, eyes closed to scan next quadrant.
Or,
The seer is to sit comfortably, and imagine in the third eye chakra a periscope or kaleidoscope, in which patterns are seen.
