Prep time : 10 minutes

Makes 4 servings
Ingredients
* Prepared Mashed Potatoes (24 oz)
* 1/4 (4 oz) pound Velveeta Pasteurized Prepared Cheese, cut into
1/2-inch cubes
* 1 pound Lean Ground Beef or Chuck as desired ***
* Optional: 1 cup frozen Mixed Vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
* 1 cup beef gravy
Directions:
Heat oven to 375°F. Brown meat in heavy medium ovenproof skillet; drain.
Return meat to skillet; stir in frozen vegetables and gravy. Combine potatoes
and VELVEETA; spread over meat mixture. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until heated
through and lightly browned. Serving Suggestion: Serve with a mixed green
salad and your favorite fresh fruit to round out the meal.
*** Optional Substitute: Substitute 1 pound (16 oz) Sausage for the Ground Beef.
*** Optional Substitute: Try diced or shredded Hash Brown Potatoes instead of Mashed.
*** Optional Substitute: Chop up those fresh vegetables just lying in the fridge.
*** Optional Substitute: Cheddar is Better and less salty tasting.
N.B. A good Ceramic or Glass casserole type oven pot is every bit as good as a skillet, IMO!
This can even be made in a "Crock Pot" with some slight adjustments, the recipe above
is the original as I got it though.
One can make a Lot changes / substitutions to this recipe without hurting it at all, the basic concept of "Meat" pies is amazingly resilient.
So far You and Us are the only one's that like Meat Pies?
