Hi all, I've thought about this for quite some time, and last night had an epiphany to compare my idea as symbolic of a computer program.
In a program we have a begin and end, subroutines called by name or value. And these subroutines can call others including itself. And when we'll written eventually breaks out if the subroutines, executes other code and ends the program, and depending on OS might provide a statement of statistics regarding the program including execution times.

So.

The idea is rituals "called" by name (command). It is also likened to a spell.
The idea flies that if an action is repeated a certain number of times, known to the operator and the spirits or elements. And those spirits or elements execute the code as 8t were to fulfill the command executed by speaking a name, even a vowel or consonant vibrated.

I like to use some Golden Dawn example here, during the obligation of the neophyte, words are spoken, the candidate replies and three swords thrust up and touch, surrounding the candidate. Some candidates have fainted or the like as a result 9f the executed energies by the words and tip touches from the swords, almost like a lightning bolt might affect someone.
So when I say LightBe, I expect to see the astral light, or even to be so filled with light by the command I become a veritable lantern to others in complete darkness

in theory you can do it: turn the person/spiritual entity into a slave with brute force & it’ll just obey without asking question/getting something in return even Goetia evoking is better than that.

But you know the world is round & the entity will seek revenge.

just my 2 cents.

In your experience, how intelligent are the spirits? Do they appear to express feelings of some kind? Now, let's turn this around a bit. Would YOU like to be called up and controlled by a 'computer program' as it were? How about being called into some human government office to see some petty bureaucrat who has the ability to make you appear before them by law? Are you creating a relationship with the person, or would you just like to do the minimum required and get out of there a.s.a.p?

Now, I'm not saying that you shouldn't ever use exacting rituals for certain entities, and you should always have some way of defending and protecting yourself (speaking from book knowledge here, no experience), but perhaps a more nuanced approach to fellow intelligences would be more productive in the long term?
