Down the line, I realize my needs and views may shift. I have always been a fan of low magick, and as for high magic, was wondering what other systems exist out there.

Daoist, Qaballistic, Egyptian, Greco-Roman, are these truly non Hermetic magic systems, or just locale oriented cultural magic systems?

Thaumaturgy, Theurgy, would either of these systems be non Hermetic? What would examples be?

Essential Hermetic magick is a mix of Greek and Egyptian systems, there are more flavors to it but in base its these two. Hermetic Qabala came later.

That doesn't mean Egyptian or Greek works would be Hermetic just based on that. Nor Jewish Kabbalah. Daoism wouldn't even be related.

It's boring and a tad unhelpful to just say "Eastern", but really. The influence of Hermetics seems almost intrinsically connected with Christianity.

I really like Shinto myth, and it doesn't seem anyone minds if you use it.
There comes a point where, in exploration of traditions in the West, you come across closed practices. Voudon is an example of this. Most practitioners of Voudon that I have seen believe that it's a closed practice, meaning that you aren't allowed to use them.

Most practitioners guard their knowhow and their wallet by saying it is closed. To be honest i think every practitioner is always wondering where those borders of sharing are wise. 😉

It's important that we just leave closed practices alone.

If you're having problems with this, feel free to look at it this way: if the methods are so covetable in the first place, then there would be so much mainstream usage of the crafts throughout history that a notion of specific people owning the practice would be completely unheard of.

I am really bad at understanding symbolism. Symbolism's not really any of my business.
