Hello
The most crucial element for successful magical operation (of any kind) the rite timing.
So Astrology for this. especially the Sidereal astrology for its accuracy than tropical astrology.
But there are many many books (big maze) that treat that aspect of astrology, to choose the right time (and that by claculating planets positions, longitiudes, moves, aspects.....etc)
Unfortunately they speak bits and pieces, too long explanations of minor elements of the process while leaving the core technique illustration unclear, some books give you the ephemeris tables directly without guiding you how to erect and calculate that ephemeris by your own.
So if anybody knows a book (sidereal astrology manual) that explains the prosedures, techniques, time conversionand the Maths for calculating planets positions, speeds, aspects, their position to my country coordinates ......etc everything to set up an exact ephemeris for a needed moment to perform my ritual.
Thanks in advance

I think the best is to use one of those highly specific programs, the ones that count the right timing, dates. I heard there are several with very special features but I'm not sure exactly which one is the best. Long time ago I tested a few of them out. Maybe somebody here knows which one to recommend.

To do something like this manually, there is a lot of room for error and the thing is just so confusing. You can go crazy with the calculations. Some people spend like a decade trying to understand it.

I checked Google, I could be wrong but the program might be called Sirius.. or Kepler, or it is the same thing with a new name. Maybe Solar Fire V9

The most commonly used program for sidereal/vedic astrology is Jagannatha Hora, a free program. Modern astrological magic doesn't emphasize highly-calculated electional times for planetary placements and aspects, and most people just go with a planetary day, planetary hour, or just when the celestial body is on the horizon, or directly above you.

Older traditions and books will emphasize this though. For vedic sidereal astrology, we have a LOT of different teaching streams that range in philosophical and interpretive complexity, Parashara considered more beginner-friendly, while Jaimini is the crown peak. Western astrology is a little easier to grasp, and many of the concepts transfer over due to the historical connection established between Greece and India by Alexander the Great.

Here is a basic hierarchy for making a good astrological election:
-Planet is in its own sign, or a friendly sign (look up sign rulerships to make this easy)
-Planet is not next to or across from Mars, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu, or the Sun (these are malefics)
-Planet is on the eastern horizon (ascendant) or directly above you (midheaven)
-Align the election to the proper day (Monday=Moon, Tuesday=Mars, Wednesday=Mercury etc)

With these 4, you'll already have a very hard time finding an election, but it's still very possible! For what you're asking on how to read an ephemeris, here is how I would start:

-Decide on the planet you're making an election for
-Scroll through the ephemeris until you find the planet in its own, or a friendly sign. This will be a window ranging from a single day to years
-Line up the appropriate day
-Open up your astrology software, plug in your location information, and start playing with the date you found to see if you can really manage getting all the other factors listed above.

Again, this is very tiring work and is something only used in modern times for VERY BIG events, like for a marriage or starting a new business. For almost every other magical operation, people just go for the planetary day, maybe for the horizon/midheaven thing, and push harder on the ritualistic aspect to make up for less power available in the astrological positioning. In some traditions, they'll even throw out planetary days and just get to work on New and Full Moons.
