The Principle of "Flashing Complimentary Colors" used for Talismanic creation and Sigil Charging:
I did a short post on this some time back in a thread about sigil charging methods which I felt was a bit incomplete, the info here can help clarify the principle.
Create your sigil as you would normally, say with pencil and paper, once it's finalized, then redraw it for example on black card stock or construction paper with a Silver or Gold Sharpie, or on a White background with Black Sharpie. The idea is a high a level of "contrast" between sigil and background. Any combination of high contrast flashing colors will work for this process though.
I like to use to use candle light to charge / imprint the sigil, votive, tea lights or tapers on either side, adjust the angle of the sigil to get a good view, use any lighting method you prefer though, the important thing here is a good clear view.
Now we're ready to charge / imprint the sigil upon or within the "Deep" mind. Focus your vision on the sigil till it's clearly visible. take all the time you need to get a
good clear view. Usually within a short time the sigil will begin to "flash", this can appear as an on/off effect or sometimes a flashing rim circulating around the perimeter of the sigil. Once the flashing effect begins you only need a short exposure to imprint it upon or within the "Deep" mind. It's usually sufficiently imprinted to work effectively at that point, but I tend to prolong the effect a bit longer because it's a fascinating and enjoyable trance and "gnostic" state!
It might take a little bit of "practice" to get the feel for this technique, but it's worth it!
If you're creating a "talisman" as opposed to a sigil, during the "consecration" phase of it's creation is likely the right time to formally imprint the flashing effect of any design elements visible on the surfaces. This is likely to happen informally during the the entire construction as well.
N.B.
The Golden Dawn used this "principle" to create "talismans" such as the Adeptus Minor Rose Cross, in complimentary colors: Red / Green, Yellow / Purple, Blue / Orange, etc, as well "planetary" talismans for various purposes as well. The "squares" of the Enochian Elemental Tablets were painted in flashing colors.
It's also likely that the Square panels that adorned the inside of the "Vault of the Adepti" were also painted in complementary colors for this effect.
This principle has also been picked up by a some authors such as Gordon White of Rune Soup, who seems to like Silver Sharpie on a Black background as well, and recommended it. It's become a real favorite method for me. Israel Regardie also wrote about this principle in his book "How to Make and Use Talismans" too, if memory serves. Works Really Well for me!
The principle of flashing colors relates to how colors can appear differently when viewed under varying light conditions or when they are rapidly alternated, which can create visual effects like the stroboscopic effect. This phenomenon can influence perception and is used in various applications, such as animation and lighting design. Wikipedia + datacolor.com
Understanding the Flashing Colors Principle
Flashing colors refer to the visual effects created when colors are rapidly alternated or presented in quick succession. This principle is often used in various fields, including art, design, and visual media.
Key Concepts
Color Perception: Our perception of color is influenced by light. When colors are flashed, the brain processes these rapid changes, which can create illusions or enhance visual interest.
Additive Color Mixing: This occurs when colored lights are combined. For example, flashingred and green lights can create the perception of yellow light when
viewed together.
Subtractive Color Mixing: This involves pigments or dyes. When different colored pigments are mixed, they absorb certain wavelengths of light, resulting in new
colors. Flashing colors can also affect how these pigments are perceived.
Art and Design: Artists use flashing colors to create dynamic compositions. The contrast between colors can draw attention and evoke emotions.
Visual Media: In film and animation, flashing colors can enhance storytelling by creating mood or emphasizing action.
Psychological Effects: Rapidly changing colors can influence viewer emotions and reactions, making it a powerful tool in marketing and design.
Last but not least it can be a powerful method to "imprint images within the Deep Mind"!
One point I didn't spell out here is that "Sex Magic" has never been "necessary" to charge sigils!
And... that's from someone who "Dearly Loves Sex!".
