The whole key concept of Surrender is something that is fascinating yet fear driving. When you start the process of Surrendering you give into the aspects of yourself. Healing a trauma is Surrendering. It eases the energetical tension you have inside and reintegrates the energy into your energy-body. Surrender and you get the emotional flow normal inside yourself. Kundalini is about 100% Surrender. The tension in your body or in different organs is something that goes against AHIH or "I Am" and Surrendering is the key notion on how to reach AHIH or Kether. It always goes with the snake brain of your body. Also the shadow self gets reintegrated by Surrendering to yourself. It brings forth Samskaras and frightening feelings but once your through it, you become a part of Kether. Surrendering unto God is a bit like Surrendering to your Higher Self or to the flows of life itself, this can be something heavenly. Even when doing the SBRP you Surrender aspects of yourself into Divinity, if you do not the ritual will make you insane. The more energy or the loftier the energetical vibration is the purer you have to be within and Surrendering brings you there.

Fascinating, yet fear driving...

I agree. I would also add strange. Almost feels illogical, to surrender yourself, to give yourself up to become yourself more and better. It's... strange to me.

Yup intimidating to say the least. Perhaps too many think there's something Higher than yourself which you need to surrender to as an excuse to not start to surrender to yourself. Everything you see, experience or feel is from Source which is yourself or filtered through all of your true self, so it's only logical that one would need to surrender to oneself.
