The Annotated Dracula by Leonard Wolf. We are well aware that vampires have transitioned from folklore into literature and then into magic within just a few centuries. Magic based on the vampire archetype gained further popularity in the last century through Gothic culture and romanticization. By TOS, this archetype had been imbued with philosophical significance. Literature and fiction do not mean we should entirely dismiss or trivialize the symbol of the vampire. In this book, annotations of Bram Stoker’s Dracula provide insights into religious, historical, and sexual themes, allowing us to delve deeper into this archetype.
