For some time already I'm trying to assemble a comprehensive collection of grimoires that are most rare, most expensive, most popular etc.
a top list of must have grimoires which would then be called "The occult bible".
Something like a careful selection of quality grimoires and making sure no rubbish gets into the "canon"
I have even consulted ChatGPT with a series of questions to refine my results and to include some more books and must say that ChatGPT gave me satisfactory results and offered some rare grimoires I wasn't aware of.
The criteria for such occult bible is this:
1. Include only grimoires written before 19th century
2. Include only most rare grimoires
3. Include only most expensive grimoires (price of physical books)
4. Include the oldest grimoires
6. I made sure no rubbish books get in, although I'm not entirely able to determine what should be considered rubbish
7. I made sure to get only those PDF's which where processed by OCR if possible so that it's searchable, although there are several which are not.
8. Also since there are multiple PDF versions for some of grimoires I made sure to get best looking ones, that is as close to original as possible and if possible without ads.
Here is a link to ChatGPT discussion (although not the original one):
This occult bible consists are 45 such grimoires, the following is a list with their authors in parentheses:
D:\grimoires> (Get-ChildItem .\ -File).BaseName
I would like to hear from you:
1. What other criteria can be used to improve the list, either to reduce it or to expand it?
2. Is there any book in the list you think is a rubbish and not worth to be part of this list?
3. Is there any grimoire you think is worth to be added to the list?
4. Any other suggestion you think might help to develop the occult bible?
Most of these grimoires are easily found in book shares and elsewhere online,
if you're missing some let me know and I'll be happy to share it in book shares.
