Other popular AP technique helping you to project astrally: The Rope technique

The Rope technique
Introduction
There are many techniques that are commonly used to help you astrally project, so many articles litter the internet and swamp you with information that you may end up combining too many methods alongside one another which may thwart your chances of success. The second most popular, and effective technique to induce astral projection is known as the rope technique and comes in second only to the Monroe technique, which not surprisingly, does play a part in the method we are going to discuss today. With the astral projection rope method thought to be one of the easiest ways to enter the astral plane, it is no surprise that there are hundreds of how-to guides all across the internet. In this article, we want to provide you with a clear, easy to follow guide on mastering this technique. Like any method used for astral projection, the rope technique will take some practise so it is important to enter into this with an open mind and a lot of patience. However, once you have mastered the technique, it will likely become one of your go-to’s as you further explore the astral plane. One of the key elements of successful astral projection is being relaxed and at ease, entering into this in a tense state will only serve as negative. Many people opt to perform meditation and this is one of the easiest and most successful ways of relaxing. A body scan or Yoga Nidra guided meditation might be particularly beneficial. However, you might also do some deep breathing exercises. If you opt to do this, you should remember to breathe slowly – the slower the better.

One of the best-loved breathing exercises for relaxation is the 4-7-8 technique during which you inhale for 4 seconds, hold the breath for 7 seconds and exhale for 8 seconds.Once you are satisfied that you are completely relaxed, you will need to come to a state of hypnosis. When aiming to astral project, it is important to bring your mind to a point where you are on the verge of sleeping but do not allow yourself to fall to sleep. The best way to achieve this is to get into a comfortable, reclined position and choose and object to focus on. Take your time here, there is no rush. You should stare at the object for long enough that you are then able to perfectly imagine how it looks, even with your eyes closed.Keeping the eyes closed, and the object in your mind, you now need to enter into a state of even deeper relaxation. You should look out into the darkness behind your closed eyes and, should you experience any light or
coloured patterns, it is important to pay no attention to these. As you ignore them, they will disappear and this is one of the aspects of the technique that will require practise.

Once those patterns have faded away, you will have entered this deeper stage of relaxation and your physical body will no longer be noticeable. For the first few times, this may feel strange but go with it.One of the most important parts of this technique, entering a vibrational state does take some time to master. As your astral body begins to leave the physical body, you will start to feel a vibrating sensation. You should acknowledge this and make yourself aware of these vibrations, paying attention to how they travel through the body. Now it is time to control these vibrations and this can be done by simply directing your will and using your mind to gain control over them. When you feel the vibrations, you can experiment and play with them.Perhaps trying to stop and start them or altering the frequency of each wave. This is the most important part and once you feel confident in this and feel sure that you are able to change the frequency at will, you can move on to the next step.Picture a long rope that hangs directly above you, but be sure to do this without moving your physical body or opening your eyes as this will undo all the hard work you have put in so far. You can now visualise yourself beginning to reach for the rope.Take a hold of it as this is what is going to pull your astral body out of your physical body.

But before you go the whole hog, it’s important to do a practice run. Clutch onto the rope and, when you do, slowly bring your hand into your physical body again. At this point, you should slow the vibrations down and stop your session. Now that you have mastered the intricacies of getting to the point of separation, it is time to fully leave your physical body and prepare to explore the astral plane. You will, of course, need to begin a new session and go through the previous steps once again, however, this time, when you grab onto the rope – don’t let go. Take hold of the rope with your second hand and, going hand over hand, gradually pull yourself up using the rope. Take your time! There are some things to be aware of at this stage including a dizzy sensation and much more intense vibrations, this is completely normal so don’t let it put you off continuing. A lot of people will return to their physical bodies at this point but if you persevere, you will soon find yourself floating above your physical body and ready to experience astral projection.

To Sum Up
With many options for astral projection, it can be difficult to determine which method will be the most effective but it is generally agreed that the rope technique is one that yields good results.

Preliminary advice
To start, you will have to relax your body as much as possible to facilitate the journey. To succeed in making an astral journey, you must first of all have good muscle relaxation, and get in condition to empty your mind of all intrusive thoughts, letting go and a deep desire to split is essential. To put the odds on your side, practice these exercises in the morning or in the evening, after a light meal, digestion will be easier. Know that while we are dreaming, we also sometimes go on an astral journey, without being aware of it. So it’s something natural. Movements out of the body are much faster than ordinary travel and can be at the speed of thought. To achieve this shift of consciousness out of the body, it is also necessary to transmute the low frequencies resulting from negative emotions such as fear, hatred, possessiveness, selfishness … and, to increase these levels of frequencies by replacing them with positive emotions like peace, joy, love, feelings of happiness.

The symptoms of the splitting of the astral body are as follows: Vibration at the neck; Heaviness, followed by floating; Intense heat invades the body; A feeling of vertigo; An impression of falling; Dull noises and rumblings while getting used to the new dimension; Before the astral journey, relax! First, lie down in a comfortable place in which you will be sure not to be disturbed (people, noise, telephone, etc.). Loosen your clothes and take off all your jewelry and watch. Also make sure you cover yourself so you don’t get cold. Start by relaxing by closing your eyes and taking long, deep breaths. Free your mind from intrusive thoughts, and know that you are safe and that you are in complete control of the situation. Only having the thought that you want to return to your physical body will be enough for you to return immediately to the waking state. Second, you continue to take long, deep breaths, making sure to swell your belly when you breathe in, and to deflate your belly when you breathe out. You can also do Jacobson’s method of crisping each part of your body, member by member, and releasing them one by one. You start by crunching your feet, then releasing them, then you continue with each part of your body by going all the way down to your head.

So you perform this muscle relaxation from the feet to the head. Once you get to the level of your head, you will squeal every part of your face, mouth, jaws, nose, eyes, forehead, making funny faces. So be sure to relax your limbs and your whole body, starting at the bottom (feet, ankles, calves, etc.) and continuing to your head, your face. Breathing exercises, muscle relaxation and the power of intention, to enter a kind of hypnotic state, are essential steps to better prepare you for astral travel.

The Rope Technique step by step
The rope technique developed by Robert Bruce is an easy technique to put in place, and that presents no danger, ideal for beginners . It is the most used method for leaving the body and astral travel.

1) Imagine that there is a big rope in front of you. And without opening your eyes or physically moving your body, visualize yourself grabbing the rope and starting to climb. Really try to feel all these sensations that one could feel if one really climbed a rope. Mentally feel the sensation that your arms can feel as you pull the rope to be able to climb, as well as the weight of your body, as your arms pull your astral body upward, climbing higher and higher along this rope.

2) And the more you climb, the more vibrations you will experience, which will intensify as you climb higher and higher. Feel these vibrations which intensify as you let go. Be aware of these high frequencies that allow you to cross the boarding gate. Imagine that these vibrations are a little like those of an airplane when it is in full takeoff. Once you experience this state of vibration, it could indicate that your astral body has started to split from your physical body. Become aware of these vibrations and impregnate them.

3) Continue to climb. But this time, go faster and faster, to speed up the process, until you are completely separated from your physical body and you have reached the astral plane. You are now ready to experience astral travel in all its splendor.

4) To return to your physical “self”, focus on the meeting of the two forms, mental and physical, of your being. Take long, deep breaths, feel the weight of each member of your physical body, as you integrate it again, by your will and the power of intention. Be careful, nothing requires you to experiment the technique if you have the slightest doubt. It’s up to you to see if you’re close to trying this kind of experience! Use good judgment and with enough practice you will definitely experience the magical reality of the astral body we all possess.

For beginners the best way to practice is to maintain consciousness in a dreamy state. The younger you are, the easier it is to astral project. Children’s consciousnesses are recently attached to the physical body and retain a natural sense of the astral realm. But as you grow older it starts to diminish. Over time one becomes more grounded into physical body and conditioned by society to doubt the reality of visionary states, until the astral realm is mostly forgotten & ignored. Although this happens to almost everybody, the ability to get out of your physical body and travel with your astral body isn’t lost. Astral travel
continues occuring without our conscious attention. We leave our physical body every night, but we aren’t consciously aware of that process and therefore have little to no memory of it. With a little bit of discipline we can learn memory techniques to remember our nightly astral projection journeys, and visionary techniques to master them.
