A lot of people talk about left hand path or tantra.... Well, this is the original left hand path of tantra, and this is what left hand path really looks like. Enjoy:

My thoughts after watching the video.....
Some people really want to escape life so much.... But I figure - none of us are getting out alive anyways, no need to rush. Might as well enjoy yourself while you are here. I think I will skip on the rotten flesh, animal feces and banishing my family from my life. Life can be hard enough without making it worse for yourself and your loved ones.

I also notice they use the most destructive and numbing drugs because they cant even stand their own lives.... Live horribly and get high enough to ignore the consequences - enlightenment for you!

Worth noting. Good video too.

Though I would say that our western version of LHP doesn't have that much in common with it's original path. Aghori would not thrive anywhere beyond India I think, because of the laws about human remains etc.

Just thinking about it, this path is questionable when it comes to seeking escape. Heaven's gate, those people sought escape and went for it. I don't think that these people are really better, but at least they are not committing suicide..

On funny note they are doing communal service, picking parts of the dead from their sacred river or other such places, that get tiny bit cleaner for that. (where else would they get those bones, flesh and ash, but at the burials?)

Osho said that some tantric adepts use drugs, alcohol..even cobra venom as an ultimate test for keeping one's awareness- that test was :a cobra should bite one's tongue..
Gurdjieff also practiced some tantric teachings..but also from sufi.

I've heard about test by cobra proving ultimate self control. Cobra was held and if it remined calm, you were good. Snake senses fear and becomes aggressive.

But never heard of using cobra venom this way.

Nice.
Hypertexting in Robert E. Svoboda's Aghora Trilogy:

As Aghora relates to Western practices, agreed, it is a bit hard to get a close enough one-to-one match to ritualize. Maybe that has changed.

Back in the 1990's I explored some the mythic speculation at the time following Shiva to Dionysus to Lucifer, but it does not quite sync up enough, in my personal opinion. But the first S2D linking is super interesting

(Tangent: JSK's take mapping Lucifer as a manifestation of whatever also appears as Hermes-Chthonius works very well, imho )

I'm glad someone brought this up. The so called LHP in western occult circles is not a path at all. It seems to involve calling upon demonic forces to satisfy one's selfish, base desires for sex, power over others, and is only a path leading to hell. Yes, the Vedic religion and Buddhism have hells too, though impermanent. The clowns of western esotericism seem to have no clue where the term 'LHP' came from, that it's a case of religious appropriation as well as slander, or that their 'path' leads to nowhere.

The left hand path or 'vamachara' is just an unorthodox means of worshipping the MahaVidya deities of the Vedic religion, who will lead you to freedom from the dualities of craving and aversion and to liberation. The western idea of the LHP seems to be nothing but indulging in one's cravings and aversion making use of lower entities.

Here are some videos on the 'left hand path' from an articulate tantrik devotee from Bharata.
