Vpngate safe or not?

I've been wondering about this for a while.

There's a place called Vpngate.net where everybody can host and others can connect through their networks. Even though these random public hosts are slow, laggy and unreliable, the place has been online for over a decade. For some reason it still is popular. A very high % of the hosts are from Korea, Japan, probably 80+%. Some of them stay online for days, others for weeks-months.

The main question here is; how safe is it for somebody to connect through these networks? Can they easily steal information? I've discussed this with a guy who claimed to have some technical knowledge and he was convinced that some of these hosts are for nothing more than stealing information.

Back in the day I used these public VPN's for some online gameplay, the reason mainly being to get odd looking flags next to my player/profile.

Yes I agree, the paid and known ones are better, reliable.. The vpngate is rather strange though, making it possible for all the people to turn their machines into hosts. Although it seems much more dodgy

it all depends on what you want. when you know that, you can start thinking about security. if you want privacy you have to up it a notch and learn that not all payed things are good things and sometimes the places you call evil are the best way.

if you want avatar upgrades or the books we have here on wf, its legal stuff and we dont really steal, you can just go with what you know cause everybody on that vpnsite is bussy with that. the money you pay is for the service and also makes sure you have the feeling of a free upgrade for your avatar, but the business behind it gets also payed. sort of consumer service for little candy thieves.

so its about your mentality mostly. where does that fit in so you are camouflaged.

the technical part and what vpn i cant help you with, but i can tell you that you need to be able to be you and not start feeling like you have a big secret to hide and sort of go roleplaying when using your vpn. thats bad juju.

Can you explain more about the last part about going roleplaying with VPN and how its bad juju? I'm interested in your perspective on that

well when life goes correctly, everybody gets what he or she needs. whether that be a broken car or a good vpn. so someone who needs a new avatar for a cheap prize gets a connection for that. now if you go undercover. first of you need to switch on and off that mode and that can make you visible. also when you get the hang of it and forget to get out of rpgmode you can get other reactions in life. thats what i mean with bad juju. if you are prepared like one would wear a magickal persona, its a different willed story of course.

also since were here on an occult site. lets say im into real witchraft and use a vpn that is a bit more, let say dork web, what do you think your connections will be? is witchcraft in the west the same as witchcraft from africa. can i handle those spirits or will i be played like a fool. so its also about how hard your light shines in this universe.

back in the days the young would go out in the wild and if they returned they would be men. the internet can be such a place.
