Everyone's got one.

What colors do people asscoiate for different types of magick? An example for some reason I typically associate blue for protection magick and green for literal money magick or maybe magick for growth? Do other people asscoitate different colors than the one I assigned for the types listed? Do people have other colors they associate with other types of Magick?

I kind of want to hear others opinions on this since I think in different artistic colors a lot since I sometimes like drawing/using watercolors when I have the time.

Or maybe to get more specific different shades of colors would also be something to talk about. For example do people asscoiate money magick with a foresty dark shade of green or a lime green? That would be also interesting to hear.

I feel something similar but also these.
Protection magic, silver or golden blue mix.
Financial magic, green and golden mix. Lime or forest, hmmm... with the golden energy mix it feels a bit like lime.

Necromantic energy, dense thick white substance, with a weird smell I don't know how to describe.

Mantra work gives me vibes of either green golden (sufi), blue golden (monastic), and an extensive spectrum with Hindu ones.

for me, protection magic is more like golden pinkish tone, more warm then cold colors.
Financial magic green, but something like pastel green, more subtle.
For love magic, the more obsession based ones it would be dark red, but for something like 'sweetener for the relationship' it would be pastel pink.
With royal blue color I associate something you're passionate about, like winning in a sport competition or getting good grades.

Color played a big part in my magical studies and practice . See the associated parts of Liber 777 for the 'color scales' .

One factor beyond this is color production , its different now than when those tables (and indeed some color names) were written , so with this , and even aside from this , a certain 'artistic license ' is required , eg all different colors in a scheme should be 'in tone' , also saturation , 'light / dark', factors .

It can make your temple, your magical tool, a ritual , seem ' connected and balanced' or disruptive or even 'garish'

Eg . I have a fav bright blue / aqua color , and a shirt to match . So once I painted my bedroom that color . Wow ! talk about terrible ! no one wanted to go in there . I painted a band of silver around the top of the walls , below the ceiling , and all of a sudden it looked great and others thought so too .

We can see how significant color can be in things like Enochian tablets (it took 90 hrs to paint my set , and working out and matching the color tones and saturation was a significant challenge ... although great fun.

There is also the 'historical palette ' eg the neolithic palette would what you would expect to see in ancient cave paintings , color drawn from charcoal , ocher etc. in later times other colors were added eg ' Egyptian malachite and Greek verdigris ( green ) , Later Phoenicians developed purple from sea shells - rare at first , thats why it became the color of royalty . All the way up to an 18 year old Bill perkins who produced mauve in 1800s in an attempt to synthesis quinine .

Then there are classes of colors ; in 777 color correspondences they are first divided into four classes ( reflecting the 'four worlds' of the Qabbalah . Color theorists Dan Pavey ( I think thats his name - I am running off memory here ) inadvertently (?) did likewise and and made four classifications

The 4 worlds model follows the tarot courts ( for Thoth arrangement they are )

The Knight - the first strong, charging force of the energy .
The Queen - the central stabilizing force of the energy .
The Prince - a supporting strong force.
The Princess - a fluid subtly modifying influence

Dan Pavey wrote about
1 Initial colors with force that 'attack' the senses , they 'shout and scream ' ; neon, vivid, modern florescent
2. The central stabilizing colors that 'command '
3. Those that speak - anything 'middle range '
4. Those that whisper - like the 'soft pastels '

Dan ( or Don ? ) has a whole range of color theory and uses , even some games to play .
