What is your take on Karma in relation to the enacting darker magic, energies, etc?

Greetings,

My "darker" casting work has yet to really get any push back, aside from some blood energy work I did recently which is more suited for the Energy Manipulation & Vampirism category, which I'll post there and is likely attracting not exactly light (weight) energy-ed beings.

This is a bit off topic: but prompted the question. I've had some minor "demonic disturbances" as they could be labeled on the punchier, direct eye to eye side of things, which is actually quite pleasing in how much oomph there is. I am at this moment, finding an explorative connection being made between them and I, showing the what I may be more deeply be asking about.

It seems like anything that comes across as what could be considered karma lands as opportunity. Disruptive "monkey mind chatter" I quiet, the finger trap of conflict I release; I find ways around or out if disturbance arises.

I am certainly continuing to step forward at an explorative pace, stopping if my experience gets too loud and I need to chill and sort. I have received warning from guides, but those sometimes are just the other wall of a smaller view pointed experience that once slipped out of generates a more expansive, holistic-insight, that surpasses the previous box the very warnings in a sense perpetuated.

But let me offer the questions as this is definitely opening up for me as a path to explore through experience.

Questions:
  • When you cast or use what's colloquially seen as darker energies, magic, techniques, etc, have you experienced active or passive back lash?

  • If you protect yourself, do you look in any specific "direction" when you do so?: Do you see it coming from a cosmological scale? a fundamental fabric? Just other entities or spiritual beings?
  • What have you experienced and how do you view it?

  • Is it something you can defend against or work around?

  • Is it just the properties of the energies that are being worked with? (This is what I'm kinda experienced as of late but that's for the EM & V Category)
Would love to hear first hand accounts and your take on it all

Hey, so in my tradition, we have a concept of Justified work. The idea here is that we have to talk to our spirits and divine into the situation to ask if using Malefic Magic is appropriate. The idea being that if you go after someone unjustifiably, their ancestors and their spirits can cause retribution. This is a pretty old school of thought. You can see it in a lot of folk magic Traditions, both European and African. But for many of us in folk magic and traditional witchcraft systems, we don't acknowledge Karma as part of our practice. But within folk magic and traditional witchcraft systems, there's no equivalent to Karma. There are just people and the choices that we make. and spirits. But to answer another one of your questions, there are ways around the retribution if someone is the type of person to throw unjustified work. I once heard that in Brujeria, they would bathe in a bath with the flower of a San Pedro's cactus after such work. So purifying yourself and protecting yourself is often all that's needed in my tradition. But I personally don't do unjustified work. Unjustified work like that changes a person's life over time for the worse. (As a side note, you are somewhere close to San Pedro cactus, plz be careful. it is very hallucinogenic and if the law sees you trying to take anything from the cactus, you will be arrested, unfortunately. Even though the flower is the one part that isn't psychoactive, Oh, and as for your first question, yea when i was younger and would get angry, i would try to work people without justified cause, and i would start to feel flu-like symptoms. But doing a cleansing always helped.

Interesting. In my practice some things I do feel like doing something not normal, or not really permitted, but not yet like breaking the law. And that's all I get from that, I get this feelng when I start doing it, but that's all.

Thank you for the share! Yeah excuse me for using the word "Karma" as a blanket term, I'm lacking words for mechanics like that.

It seems like spiritual beings around the person, or more opportunistic entities pick up on stuff. And I'd have to agree on it changing me, I don't do work on people much at all, maybe a splash here or there if I'm really being tested, need distance, can't handle it with communication, but wrath is not my thing.

I have been playing with darker energies just as a study, and the quality of my experience has taken a dip; the entities it seems to attract are... not exactly conducive to sustained joy and are encroaching. But yeah maybe I just need to study some cleansing practices and get a better handle on active defense and tending to those fields if I'm gonna continue exploring.

Thank you again for the input and love the San Pedro cactus; it's a shame traditional medicines are persecuted from places of ignorance and codified into law; hopefully that can be changed soon. Much Love 🌅
