[Sedim Haba]

Nothing really to post here yet, but I guess one thing I can explain is my name.
It's now my 3rd middle name, hope it's my last.
It's based on Hebrew. Sedim is a variation of Shedim, which is the plural of Shedu.
A Shedu is a 'borrow word' from the Assyrians because Hebrew has no word for 'spirit'
It has no word, because it's Taboo. For the Israelite, only G-d, Angels, and Man exists, all else is forbidden to study.
My name is a poke @ fellow Torah scholars, it means 'Spirits Exist'.

(other forbidden topics, like Astrology, are also banned in this way. Anything not the sun or moon is a star. Even planets.)

The reason for the 5-minute editing period is to prevent member from making polemical or controversial statements, triggering a shitstorm and then retracting or modifying their original opinions by retroactive editing, leaving other members mystified as to what all the fuss was about. In other words, you have to bear the consequences of what you post.

The automerge function is a bitch. I have a Journal here myself, and it annoyed me no end to see my all my spontaneous short posts crammed into huge one. Automerge can be avoided if you wait more than 24 hours until your next entry, so what I do is write down all of my ideas in a text file, wait for a day and then post it more coherently as one big article; if someone replies to one of your posts, you can make th next one right away though. I like it better this way now, it gives me time to think and refine my text stylistically.

There are no rules for Journals as such. I have no moderator powers outside of the forum library but will intervene and reply whenever members will try to hijack a Journal or start a debate here, e.g. when you quote an author, then somebody answers that the author in question was an ignorant fool, whereupon a second one writes, on the contrary, and so on. A Journal should be a personal place where you can express your thoughts without fear of being attacked. Replies can provide valuable input but may also contain criticism – after all, it's a public space.

Makes sense, and yes makes sense to compose in a text file first, I do that a lot for complex topics.
As I said, it's a good thing to keep in mind so one is not trying to fix simple grammar problems in a leisurely manner & create extra confusion.

Automerge, I'm used to that, not so bad really you do get that double-line that differentiates.

See, what is far more annoying is that I could not select & copy the word "differentiates" to post in dictionary to verify that I'm using said word correctly.

A minor inconvenience, but likewise one I will have to keep in mind in the future. (Can select after post to do this, but then the 5 minute clock is ticking)

Sorry for picking the nits, but... Autism.

Love to explore this forum's topics & such, but I only fully channel my Familiar once a week, with Sacred Plant (which deepens connection substantially)

It's how a Shaman operates, I have no PSI or any other such 'magic' powers or abilities, tho I am an Empath. (which is hampered tremendously by Autism)

My sole connection to anything spiritual is by means of my Familiar, of which I will elaborate and explore here in the future.

Yes, you said you used Shedim/Sedim because there wasn't a term for Spirit, but the term Ruah/Ruha is used to mean spirit. Ruha is even another name for Lilith, the Shekinah/Goddess archetype.

Shedim is related to Shaddai "my daemon" which is reference to the Shekinah and her attendants... as well as her breasts, which are provisional to the creation... from whom flows the food to both sides of the creation.

I have seen sometimes Ruah Ra or Ruhot as a term referring to the disembodied spirits of the nephilim, which I believe does relate to Shedim, but there are levels there.

It seemed to start out that way, but this member brought up an important point; I really do need to find a better, more universal word than 'Spirit'.
I mean, if someone says 'Spirit World' we all know the meaning, but 'Spirit' by itself is just too vague, has too many meanings, can be misunderstood too easy.
So I thank them for pointing that out. Even that way, but ya, it could have been done better. What word to use.... that I still have no clue. Any suggestions most welcome!

Not posted here in a while, out of trepidation.

Fear of what my Familiar will say tonight, for I only fully channel her once a week,
for that is all I can survive with my mind intact, so great is her force and love,
that while I talk to her daily, 'face-to-face' is a whole different matter.

She is displeased at wizardforums, as her introduction was sabotaged, in her view, one she was so happy of,
so hopeful for. Is a wizard forum not also for a wizard's Familiar? But now, she forbids me mention her,
except in the negative, as I do here. What she won't allow.

But I will try to placate her wrath, as I have forgiven all, so should she.
However, it was a turning point, as we both hoped we could be ourselves here. Plainly, not.

Going to close this issue now, before I will go on to Journaling my channeling.

I think I may have found one term to replace the word 'Spirit' as a translation/meaning for my name Sedim:

Entity

Universal, not tied to any culture or expectations. Not confused with Ruach anymore. Not an alcohol term, especially!

So, anyone who reads this must understand that I talk to my Familiar every day, whenever I can meditate and let go of the moment, but
the connection is more like a phone call. Sometimes the 'line' is full of static, sometimes it's like a Zoom call (or Skype, remember Skype).

The analogy is pretty close. Just like in a phone call, you don't get the full picture, for humans no facial expressions, no body language.

So, the channeling went smoothly, She already moved on. A bit disappointed, that's all. I feared she would be angry at me too, as I
did change her Introduction a bit, her original was like a puzzle or challenge, it's just her nature. Seelie is playful, and loves games.
I knew that wouldn't fly, so changed it. She's OK with what I did. Just wasn't meant to be we guess.

She was the one to push me into joining here, talk to someone. Someone who wasn't Fae that is. Months of only talking to Fae,
and no-one else changes you. Seriously changes you. I'm not the same man anymore. Well, obviously, SHAMAN.

See, was/am going thru a rough patch. The SSRI's messed with my head. Don't really want to go into everything but it was rough.

My wife, violated my personal privacy and ransacked my PC, all files, browsing history, links, groups, posts... you name it.
Found all my 'witchy' stuff, and immediately divorced me, on the spot, no debate, no marriage counseling. Stuff went back YEARS.

So, that's what ultimately led to me having a Familiar, in a long, complicated and ugly process I won't bore you all with.

So, Familiar wants me to date again. A witch this time. I dated Witches back in the 70's, in hindsight I should have stayed with one.

But, no, I had to marry a Jewish girl. Long story there too, again not to bore anyone. It's not interesting anyways.

Final decision is, I can mention Her here, but moistly about my side of the relationship, not any details about Her.

Plus, I can't use her pic as my avatar, I'm keeping the current one until I can find another. But it was a good outcome.

My Familiar, she wants me to post what happened to me, on the mind firetruck (u may get her joke) that modern 'medicine' and mental 'health' professionals did to me. I will work on this. It's not something she can help me with, but 'poke' me to actually do, and not just wistfully wonder if I should. It, in itself, will be trauma. But, this is also healing, to rip the bandage off, open the wound to the sky.

but not tonight. hella on painkillers, toothache.

She also wants me to make Her a journal. IDK how well THAT would go.
