I've heard stories about long hair acting as a sort of antenna and enhancing spiritual abilities. One story I heard was native americans being drafted into the army. one group of natives hair was cut and one group kept their hair. the group that lost their hair lost their ability to track. Another example of this is the women of the vril society.

They were disheartened. That's why they weren't able to see the trail signs. It's not the loss of the hair, it was the way they lost it.

Sages are depicted with long flowing hair and beards because sinners and the sick were traditionally shaved as part of their recovery. If you see an individual with long flowing hair and beard, that individual hadn't needed to be shaved in a long long time, so, it's assumed that they're "wise". They were able to stay out of trouble and stay healthy.

Predating that Native American anecdote, the Biblical Samson derived all of his strength from his hair, and a ploy was hatched to shave him and rob him of his power. Afterwards, he called to God to grant him divine strength and destroy the temple of his wrongdoers, crushing them and himself in the process. How this was achieved or why? Who can say, but it's certainly not a new concept that power in any form can be linked to the length of one's hair.

It's a difficult question. I also thought about the "Vril ladies." They were powerful mediums. Taoists and Yogis (men) They also wore their hair long. Like many shamans. On the other hand, Buddhist monks shaved their heads, and Catholic priests shaved their tonsure. It seems to me that long hair is important if spiritual practice is associated specifically with mediumistic perception, and not just with meditation or prayer. Shamans work with spirits. Many practices in Taoism date back to shamanism. Yogis, on the other hand, pull long hair into a bun on top of their heads, without leaving them loose. This may be some kind of intermediate option. Witches in traditional Russian witchcraft, when conducting rituals, had to let down their hair. They also worked with different entities, such as devils and demons. Sometimes with angels or saints. If the practice is associated only with inner efforts, meditation, as with Buddhists, extra "antennas" can be a hindrance. And what do you, my friends, think about this?

Before World Wars in Europe the long hair marked free person, it was status symbol. Slaves had their hair cut short, so short hair was symbol of person with no power, meaning no status, not respectable.
That is one of reasons why in Tolkien's tales most people have long hair. If I'm not wrong, in the cold north long hair was also symbol of honor, if someone's hair were cut short, it was a punishment to humiliate person because everyone saw that they did something wrong and it took time for hair to regrow.
Long hair are great way to show one's health and consequently fertility too. So it makes sense for hair to be attractive and therefore becoming a status symbol.

Could be reflected in spirits looking at length of hair and judging person's honor and status by it. But it's rather that one is powerful, therefore has long hair as consequence, not the other way around.

My main practices, meditations, inner work and connecting with the "servers".

I've had both very short and very long.
Short hair: I noticed strong sensitivity in head.
Long hair: Better overall stability, feeling like energy is stored in there, battery effect.

I've read about it, they say long is like having antennas and great for storing energy. Some would say long could be a hindrance then again there are different monastic traditions. Orthodox monks got very long. Catholics with very short. Many different traditions and opinions.

If hair antenna follows the same physics as a radio antenna then shorter hair would be for shorter wavelength or higher vibrations and the longer hair would be for longer wavelength and lower vibration. My hair is as long as it will grow before falling out, so that probably means I am closer to satan than to god.

Personally, I would say no. A person's hair doesn't improve a person's abilities in the occult, their abilities do get stronger with practice and so on.

Ironically, I have heard of people shaving their heads as a part of a ritual. Maybe it is the other way around ;)

Power is where you place it. For some, culturally or practice-wise, their hair is part of their ability to channel, tied to their core beliefs about self, and connection to ancestors or spirit. In these instances and similar circumstances, it would impact someone's ability to practice or their power. This can show up in how hair is cared for, whether it is cut, bound, etc.
