So I am working on my film project (as writer and director), but I'm having trouble attracting interested producers, investors/money/grants because of the subject of the film. I know I have to break down the main goal into smaller parts to make it work, but how can I make it happen with magick?

With magic, you focus on the end goal, what you ultimately want to manifest. The "how" is composed of the lucky events and synchronicities that happen to achieve that goal. It doesn't help to micro manage how things should happen, but you may gain insights on specific goals to reach during the overall process. For example, the grant that you seek through the usual channels might not manifest, but funding could appear by other means.

I will tell you what I've been meaning to tell an aspiring script writer I know personally who has very lofty goals: start small. I don't know if you're a seasoned director and writer or if you're just getting out of film school or if you're doing all this from ground zero, but people with money aren't going to throw it at you if they don't have some evidence you're good at what you do. Find some local drama/theatre groups that perform plays and try to get in with them and write material for them, build a portfolio.

In magical terms, this is opening channels for magic to actually do its work. You can cast spells all damn day, but if there aren't any avenues for progress towards your ultimate goal to enter your life, you'll be waiting a very long time for it to manifest with the most improbable set of events. You want to create as many opportunities as possible so when you do resort to magic, there are various directions it can arrive from. In essence you are generating a tributary and the magic will follow the path of least resistance.

It's queer.
It might be helpful to know something about the kind of magic that interests you. To my way of thinking, the goal or outcome one desires is ritualized in some way. For example, in Chaos Magic one would create a sigil expressing the desire, charge it, and forget it. Then just go about one's business, working normally. You could create multiple sigils based on goals: "My queer film is complete, and it is exactly what I wanted it to be." ... "My queer film has funding." ... "My queer film has a producer." .... etc.

As @Digiquo said, you still do the work without lusting for results, creating many opportunities for your desires to manifest.
