Hey everyone,
I am ChaosMarc. I was a part of the original Wizard Forums as well as Occult Corpus under a different name. I didn't post much but I would like to change that with this iteration of Wizard Forums.

My experience: I started off with Psionics and focused on Direct Magic, trying to get the effects of magic with as little ritual as possible. I still prefer to do magic with as little ritual as possible but some of the rituals I have tried added oomph to my workings and at the end of the day I am more pragmatic than ritual averse. I have about 5 years of Psionics experience with times of me stepping away to focus on things more physical. I have 7 years of experience with sigil magic and out of everything I have tried, sigil magic most easily changes the physical plane. I have worked through Rufus Opus's Seven Spheres book at least 3 full times, with some interesting effects. I am a huge fan of Jason Miller's approach to magic and almost all of his stuff that I have tried worked for me to an extent. His Financial Sorcery book is awesome. I can say between Financial Sorcery and Sorcerer's Secrets, those two books have helped me make some huge life changes both financially and geographically.

Why I am here: Even though I have conducted quite a few rituals and magical workings, I still don't have great magical senses. I have been working on that for years but very rarely do I feel any energy change from outside of my energetic body. I can do Jason's Pillar and Spheres ritual (a modified Middle Pillar Ritual) and immediately feel the results in different parts of my body but while reaching out to spirits in any way, whether invoking or evoking just feels like I'm hanging out by myself smelling this incense and looking at the altar with reverence and patience. Despite my lack of feedback in the moment, I have exercised my ability to create belief and faith in myself and the working so while I would prefer to get visuals and auditory feedback, it seems that I still get the effects from the magical workings without them.

Big shout out to The God King, he knows his shit. I remember everywhere I looked for arcane knowledge he seemed to have been there and already had 5,000 threads talking about almost any type of magic. I'm glad you're here and I look forward to interacting with everyone else.

Interesting. Here's a comment made in a blog post about the RWC and Frater RO's Seven Spheres book:

"Though Fr. RO may have distilled his RWC content into SS, in my opinion, he went way too far; RWC was a whole course of Hermeticism and magical practice that really did start you from scratch, while SS doesn’t do nearly as much, nor does it provide for a strong foundation to properly train people for conjuration, spiritual contact and communication, spiritual hygiene, ritual practice, or the like. SS basically assumes you already have it and that you already have decent enough visionary skills to perceive spirits."

LOL. Yeah, that tracks. I have been looking into the Red Work Course from RO this week and am seriously thinking about going through it. Out of all the different paths, Hermeticism seems to keep following me around, reminding me that it exists and popping up in unexpected places. Sometimes I can be hard-headed but maybe that could be taken as a sign. 😅
Also, a quote from that same article that surprisingly sums up what I intend my path to look like, at least right now: "Although not everyone might care for his writing style or approach to magic, Fr. RO does give people a taste in SS of what non-Golden Dawn Hermetic magic is and can be, providing a back-to-basics Hermetic cosmology largely outside (but still playing nice with) Hermetic Qabbalah and a way to directly interface with the planetary angels through conjuration."
