I've been doing this and that magical practice for over 13 years.
Sometimes I get a bit tired of it and i do less in a day.
However i am usually doing work daily.
Spiritual improvement lasts much longer than earthly goods.
I try to stay confident in my path.
I want to retain my consciousness and mental progress.

How do you stay motivated?

Tbh, the fact that you're still doing something daily is already much more than most people manage. Keep it up!

I personally stay motivated for a few different reasons. For one, it's my goal to at least get good enough to do all the exercises in Bardon's Initiation Into Hermetics before I die. But other than that? A good amount of it is pure curiosity. I want to see how far I can go, what I can do, outside of just trivial spellwork. I also know that I tend to fall out of good habits quickly, unless I keep some sort of consistent effort. And just like getting out of shape physically, I've been at a point in life where my magical capabilities waned a ton from lack of practice. So a healthy fear of letting that happen again fuels me as well. Therefore, I make it to where I practice at least for a few minutes daily, with very few days of exception. And never going two or more days in a row without any practice, for the most part. (By practice I mean just basic ass meditation that you can do anywhere)

Well at some point I hope to make magic/spirituality my one and only focus, helping others. So I gotta stay sharp. Also, the worst times of my life where either things were going downhill or I just felt utterly disconnected from myself have been when I stopped practicing. After that, this stuff just absolutely fascinates me and thoughts+ideas related to it are always forefront of my mind. Not being magically active makes the multitude of philosophical thoughts intolerable.

I think that as with anything in life, to stay motivated, you must set up goals and work to achieve them.

I think also, much like anything else in life, it's worth considering a lack of motivation might be a hint that one is hitting a rut. I try to use those moments to look into something new, whether it's a totally new practice or tradition, or just a new exercise, meditation, author, or even experimenting with new tools or materials. I feel like practice is awesome, but habits, in magic, are usually not-so-awesome.

True, I do this too. If I am unmotivated I try to set goals, if I'm finding it difficult to come up with goals that I am truly excited for, then I try to look for something new that excites me.

Let me just point out from my perspective, that I was constantly focusing so much on how to Astral Project and have Out of Body experiences. I was to involved in getting out of my body that I was frustrated with it, and lost my interest even for meditation. Therefore, I decided to take a break, and also I just let The Universe lead the way. The Universe suggested not to pay any mind, have patience and have fun. Also, not to take things so seriously. One thing I did was that I let The Universe or my Lovely Divine Light to take control, and I asked Him/Her to help me in a way. With this in mind, I am finally starting to have few experiences, and learned some techniques of doing Reality Checks. However, I always leave it to my Father and Mother who is The Divine Light. Ever since than, I got back into what I Love the most. So for you dannerz, why don't you give what I did a try. Take a break from the whole magick, and reconnect and enjoy life and live. Then, go back once you have, ask The Universe in the many names you wish to call it. Do affirmations, and just let The Universe do the rest. If, you give this a try, you'll have wonderful results. Many blessings to you my friend and don't give up (take a break) but don't give up.

In my view, to search new paths in magic...it´s necessary, I mean, you must work with the right and left hand, but you have quoted the tiredeness, it´s pretty normal, I, when I am weariness of the practices, I have given some days for resting, and I come back, and let´s be honest, You must stay two steps ahead as for magic, you must master all of the fields of magic you can, your life depends on that.

Being motivated is to examine any and all crap areas in your life, and being determined to eradicate them by all means necessary.

Dont become homeless, unless you want a path of feral sorcery. My best advice.
