Repairing the Aura / Restoring Jing

Hi All --

It is my understanding that certain events can damage the aura-- parasites, traumas, drug addictions, physical ailments. The aura can get holes in it, which allows one's vitality to freely leak out into the environment, and which allows parasites or vampyric entities to more easily siphon energy from the individual.

On top of this, there is the question of Jing-- which is the concept of the basic life force allotted to each person. It is possible for a person to take in energy from the environment, but it's said that there's only a specific amount of this very precious energy alotted to each of us, and that certain activities or experiences can drain this essential life force. We see the concept in practical Taoism as well as Hinduism, and probably in Tibetan Buddhism as well-- these systems are all closely allied, but they also have the most sublimely developed understanding of the energetic body out of all systems on the planet. So I give some weight to what they say in this respect.

So my question is two-fold.

1) What methods repair holes or perforations in the aura?

2) How does one restore the vital life force, or Jing, once it has been diminished?

Restoration of jing can be effected in multiple ways. The most immediate is practicing neigong and specifically circulating qi in the body (Microcosmic Orbit). You can also do qigong and taiji. Neigong practice is kind of more "concentrated".

Jing actually being diminished or damaged is quite serious. So eating correctly is required. Additionally you will need herbal supplementation with white and red ginseng, fo-ti root, astragalus, and many others. You would need advice from a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner or a truly expert Taoist master. The herbs to taken depends on whether you are male or female, your age, your condition, whether you are yin or yang depleted, etc. You could also go to a good acupuncturist to get started.

This seems like some very particular, theoretical interpretation of certain spiritual realities. Energy, aura and Jing are at best metaphors. Diferent treatments can restore your vitality after sickness, different ones will grant you back your freedom, different ones yet will let you recover your sanity after traumatic experience. There is not one, singular measure of "aura" but a spectrum of colours.

Hey, thanks for your reply.

The Taoists were very clear that there is a type of energy they termed pre-natal Jing, that is separate from the rest of the Qi your body feeds on / consumes regularly, and that there is a finite amount of it. Their cosmology and practice indicates the existence of real objective energy, and it isn't a metaphor for how much ATP you're producing for your cells, or a metaphor for any other biomedical explanation. They have their own in depth science based on a direct understanding of these energies. You can also see these energies at work in the occult sense when Taoist masters shock people, light things on fire, or move object through the manipulation of Qi.

I don't see this as a "particular theoretical interpretation". I think to the Taoists, this is a spiritual reality. So I'm trying to find answers that align with the assumption that the Taoist model of the universe is valid. I'm not trying to question the validity of the Taoist cosmology, because I see that their science of energy has developed over thousands and thousands of years of experimentation and refinement. In India, they also came to very similar conclusions.

But I think you're totally right that different treatments can restore vitality after sickness, grant you freedom, recover wholeness / sanity after trauma, and that those things do have a direct effect on your energy. Not trying to dispute that at all! All these models of the universe overlap, but I'm trying to choose this particular model, and investigate the problem from this point of view. Sometimes when the problems are caused by occult means, they are best solved by occult means / occult medicine. (Sometimes they are best solved by leaving occultism alone, lol. so fricken complicated).

Thanks for your reply Frater Pan. I didn't know Neigong could help with this. Looking into it. Appreciated

I have not studied directly with Taoist teachers for some time (I did as a young man though) so I am not an expert at all. But there is prenatal jing that pretty much one is stuck with but there is also postnatal jing and that can definitely be strengthened and apparently replenished to some extent. However a lot of this is in terms of not leaking qi and jing - so minimizing sexual emission, disease, etc. Studying this aspect of TCM is almost a separate study in itself. Neigong, by which I mean seated meditation circulating qi in the Microcosmic Orbit can be very powerful. It is also still very rare to find (I don't see my former Taoist teacher openly advertising it anymore for example) although one can still find some versions of it taught. More commonly today is the slightly wider proliferation of qigong, so you might have a better time finding a good qigong practice esp. if you live in or near a Chinese or Chinese Diaspora world city (anywhere in Taiwan, Singapore, most large US cities and some smaller ones now, some South American cities even now a few European cities possibly and some Australian cities). Then the general herbs are more available nowadays but in the end you'll need to find a good TCM conversant herbalist.

Aura- energise the rotational axis in your energy field and spiral the force around your body. Do so frequently.
Middle Pillar or Ida-Pingala rotation and chakra stimulation or, microcosmioc orbit.
Jing- No ejaculation. Sunlight. Sun gasing if possible. Vitamin E uptake increase, avocado's great source. Most men dont get enough...
