It's possible that folks are just curious what you mean by hereditary magic; for instance, do you practice a closed lineage we might recognise, is it familial or more cultural (we're from all over the world here, hereditary includes family and culture for some of us). I'm not good in words, especially that English is not my native language.
I prefer listening to others rather than talking about myself. Besides, I’ve only just joined this forum and haven’t had time to get properly acquainted with it yet. I’ll likely overcome my natural tendency toward silence in time. For now, I’m giving myself a chance to better understand what this forum is all about and which topics might resonate with me.
As for the tribal or cultural nuances of our family magic—well, they simply don’t exist at this point, if only because we stopped being interested in such distinctions a long time ago.
