House Spirits

Can I ask if anyone else here has encounters with house spirits or whatever you wish to name them?
Growing-up my mam would talk to the entities around the house, especially when things went for a walk!
I’ve lived alone or with my partner for the last 20 years now, yet I’ve had my own entity appear in that time. Their name is ‘Cosmo’ or at least that’s the name they provided when I was talking to them. Not sure if my mam has named hers or just talks to them… but they do seem to listen.
I live in UK, first NE England then Scotland, both areas with stories relating to entities that offer protection or mischief around the home.
Cosmos is friendly, for the most part, if a touch playful. Seriously, I have things beside me, for them to be moved the next. Though they do return them and help locate anything else I’m seeking out.
Sadly I’m not entirely sure how to show I appreciate them. Just continue talking to them, when their aid isn’t asked for, or do something else?
Samhain is approaching, and I’d like to incorporate something into my celebration.

Anyone else have these entities or ones similar?

They’ve been with me for several years and really don’t feel ghostly, unlike other entuties I’ve encountered.
I don’t react negatively to them as I have with dark ghosts/spirits in the past (that was a ‘fun’ experience…), so they don’t appear malicious.

When you speak of via divination, which would you say? I’m very much intuition and instinct led. Even with my meds dulling my gifts I still rely on that side of me a great deal.

I would say use the divination methods you feel to be most comfortable. You are aware on how to do a truth processing spell right? I would light such a candle to do so.

If not, wash hands in enchanted rosemary to reveal hidden truths and cut through deception. Roll white candle in olive oil or whatever cooking oil you have available and enchanted eyebright, to compel spirits for truth telling. Light candle.
Proceed with divination, ask the spirits for clarity. After officially verifying their identity, then you can ask if there is anything they would like to be served on occasion, as a potential house guardian. You can even set up your game plan, lay out expectations etc. Rules etc. This will create good structure for your relationship.

After doing divination. Cleanse and dismiss spirits properly in your preferred method. If you're hypersensitive to spirit communication, wear a little hat, black preferred for protection.
