You'll get people in magickal communities who call themselves practitioners, occasionally even in this forum, counter-signalling magick and arguing with you about it's existence. I'm sure some glowies know of its existence, but they are few and far in-between.

Also, technology is a lot more reliable, you push a button and get effect. I've never seen anybody get 100% certainty from magick. It isn't something governments will worry about too much anytime soon.

I think Wizard Forums is mostly inured against surveillance from such agencies. The high level practicioners who can actually do some crazy shit have moved well beyond anything they could hope to glean from here, and would be wise enough to keep that shit to themselves.
The path to getting to that level can start here, but it takes piecing the puzzle together with a high degree of discernment and personal experience, and eventually I think most truly serious practicioners move on to other waters. AI can't put the pieces together because it has no real mind or soul, so it has no point of reference to put things together in a way that actually works, and a CIA glowie who doesn't believe in any of this crap has no hope of doing so either.
In their eyes, this entire forum is a bunch of LARPers, at least until someone says something along the lines of "overthrow the US Government, blow up all of the Saudi Arabian oil fields, and let nature's chaos sweep the world again" or some shit like that.
