Hello. I am timelostmage. I often go by Ez. I am bad at introductions. I am new to the internet. Thank you for the patience.

I am still working through my beliefs in magic, and what shape those possible beliefs take.

Whatever shape they will take, I am fascinated by Esoterica, Phillosophy, Theology, and Magic. Even if I end up a pure and total skeptic I would still be delighted to learn. (though, I keep finding myself fascinated by the Kabbalah, and have found endless frustration trying to find a decent source on my own peoples theurgy! Also my own peoples Thauntmaturgy! I keep finding sources that refference jewish magic in passing, written by jewish sources, that don't actually specify the practices, and its driving me nuts!)

I also want access to the occult library because cool library and no budget.

There's a very promising Kabbalistic text (I just discovered it myself the other day and looked over it a little) someone very graciously uploaded the pdf of on these very forums that might pique your interest. https://wizardforums.com/threads/avraham-ben-yitzchak-of-granada-brit-menucha-covenant-of-rest.7353/ Though it is quite dense and not very beginner friendly. If you would like additional recommendations I can recommend several texts that would serve more as an easier to follow introductory point.

I will check out the work later! Seems neat.

I am currently interested in studying the Lurianic Kabbalah, I tried and failed to process the kabbalah, repeatedly, and from what I understand alot of the understandings of the Zohar(a text i have bounced off of multiple times) come from Issac Luria's interpretation of the text, so im interesting in studying that.

along with that, I am interested alot in historical rabbinical thauntmaturgy. I know I know we can't seperate the philosophy from the practice and if you asked any rabbi for those thauntmaturgy they'd tell you the study was more important, but its an academic interest on the history.

In that case I highly recommend Meditation and Kabbalah by Aryeh Kaplan. There's a online pdf here:

though I would recommend buying the book if you can. This youtube channel is also an excellent resource as well

The channel owner is an actual former university professor that specialized in the study of Western Esotericism from a historical perspective and he has several videos on the history and development of Kabbalah.

Dr. Sledge is great! Glad I could help! If you'd ever like to discuss Kabbalah feel free to reach out in PMs. I, maybe a bit presumptively, would call myself a fledgling Kabbalist and am always eager to discuss it with others though up until now I haven't met many people I could talk to about it asides from some family.

I meant more so when you're finally able to. I can't either seeing as I just joined the other day and my post count isn't high enough yet either lol. I just barely made enough to receive PMs. Apparently replies don't count but I do them to alert the person I'm talking to I responded to them. I have not read that book. What's it about if I may ask?

Its a fictional webseries exploring kabbalah from a deeply jewish and knowledgeable perspective. Obviously, its fiction, but it has those little touches that kinda reinvigorated my love of magic recently and got me to join this forum. The author also posts his sources in the authors notes which are on the reading list.

Essentially, what if reality suddenly started functioning on kabbalistic metaphysics as just like, physics, roughly around the Nixon era. Its great. its also free. This is the link

Edit: I dont know why that became table of contents, it is still the link to the series.
