Figured I might as well make an introduction post. I've had a minor interest in the occult for a few years but I didn't really start taking it more seriously until very very recently. I've read The Book Of The Law and I'm currently reading "The Magick of Aleister Crowley" by Lon Milo DuQuette, I've also started meditating daily. I found this forum through Reddit (which I don't like very much) and figured I'd make an account. Don't know if I'm gonna be a very active user though, but we'll see.

I haven't read a lot of thelemic stuff to be completely honest. I think I confused "The Book of the Law" with "The Law of One" which is some book about channeling an alien. I need to be open to more Thelmic stuff, but I don't know, I heard Crowley was presented as a kind of mediocre occultist and he did have a lot of ego and was very dramatic and it's kind of hard to associate him with having success in a system meant to break down the ego, although he was knowledgeable with Kabbalah and correspondences, and with knowledge, I don't think Crowley knew how to apply it to life. I never really gave him a chance because he wasn't someone I wanted to emulate.

I originally came for the library too, but having an place to talk about my special interest topic with people who know actually what they are talking about made me excited as hell and I decided to join in. It's a good place for questions or to stop by from time to time to have on the backburner if not active, because people know what they are talking about here a bit more than reddit from a lot of different paths.

Welcome. I'm not into DuQuette's tradition, but I love his writing and personality in print.
