The Golden Dawn principle of "Flashing Complimentary Colors" used for Talismanic creation:
Create your sigil as you would normally with pencil, once it's finalized, then redraw it on say Black card stock or construction paper with a Silver Sharpie, or on White background with Black Sharpie. The idea is High Contrast between Sigil and Background.
It's best to use candle light to charge / imprint the sigil, a couple of votive candles or tea lights on either side, adjust get a good view of the sigil, now we're ready to charge / imprint the sigil upon the "deep" mind.
Focus / Unfocus your vision on the sigil till it begins to "flash", once the flashing begins you only need a short exposure to imprint it upon the deep mind. You can also save the sigil and repeat if you feel that might be needed for some reason as well, but once it begins to flash it's usually pretty much a done deal.
N.B.
The Golden Dawn Adepts used this "principle" to create Talismans such as the Adeptus Minor Rose Cross, in Complementary Colors: Red / Green, Yellow / Purple, Blue / Orange, et al. When used together the Complements will appear to Flash, imprinting any sigils on the Talisman into
the "deep" mind of the magician, or "recipient" of the Talisman.
The principle has been picked up by a number of authors like Gordon White of Rune Soup, who seems to like Silver Sharpie on Black Background as well, and recommends it.
Works Really Well for me!
