Rosemary and Mugwort are excellent protectors, so have them where is good for you to protect. I have them near windows and doors, I also have Mugwort dried near doors as well. What plants are good to have in the house and which are not? I know 0 about herbalism, never bought a houseplant, never considered any ups and downs, but clearly it matters. I wonder if there is some lore to learn here.
I'm not sure in terms of caring for them but I do have some advice. Plants are living beings and they aren't all as easy as just water and sunlight. Whatever plant you get be sure to read up on it. Some plants require certain ways of watering(orchids for example you give ice cubes and let them melt you dont straight up water them), certain types of soil, etc...and plants can get diseases too so be sure to know what common mistakes are made with the type of plant you get and how to spot such diseases. Like if a plant doesn't have enough calcium in the soil they may turn a certain color(can't recall what but plants don't just wilt there's usually ways to tell what the plant is lacking by color). What plants are good to have in the house and which are not? All plants have abilities. It's common to use a cactus for protection, basil for abundance....
In fact, sage is very strong and the drying proces adds power to that. Add dried powdered sage to salt and the ashes of a local thorny prickly plant. Evaporate the moist of a liter vinegar and use that dry rests as well. You can do that on very hot summer days in the sun, but it takes some time. Put all toghether. Draw on some of the sage leaves protective sigils before drying. It is up to the witch to decide on how much leaves there must be a sigil. I draw the sigils with a 6B pencil to make it easy... I am talking here about salvia officinalis, no need to use the white sage. I won't give here the exact amounts with the vinegar as exception, I think it is up to the witch/practitioner what is needed. The fresh kitchen herbs that you can buy in the supermarket have some surprising lore (in some cases at least). Sage, Basilicum and Mint are good for banishings for example.
