Could you elaborate? In the chaos magic sense, the ancient Gnostic sects sense, the Eastern sense of enilightnment, in some undefined personal spiritual conception, what?

I don't think it's something you can "be in," like a room you walk into. Gnosis isn’t a state you visit, it's something written inside you. Etched into your bones. But it doesn’t come from you. It comes from Other.

You just know. And you’d die on that hill for that knowing.

This is where the academic hits a wall. You can use a dictionary or a thesaurus all day long, but none of that brings you closer. You have to feel it. You can't fake it. You don't “receive” gnosis on grand sweeping concepts like you're suddenly the knower of all things magick lol. It comes in fragments. Little moments that hit like lightning. Usually small. Always profound.

Crowley can’t get you there. Skinner’s no help either. Gnosis isn’t something you can study or intellectualize. And maybe that’s what makes it so sacred. YMMV

Given you like to be pretty short in your responses, I'll give you the same courtesy.

Good question actually. If some of the old Gnostics in fact achieved unio mystica, they weren't saying in the Nag Hammadi scrolls some of whom may have been divinely inspired. And how could you describe melding with God anyway if that was their stated goal? You'd have to replicate their experience to find out.

While I find the Gnostic model of reality quaint and wrong, ideally theirs was an attempt to conform legit experiences to the knowledge of the natural world available at the time in relation to an imagined transcendent god that has no reality.
Lena's Experience in Annihilation with the Shimmer is the closest I can get to conveying it using imagery.
Some of her answers were ones I gave myself in the debrief a decade before the movie was out.
