He has an odd style. Sort of old fashioned but his pictures are so interesting. I respect the talents of the old masters but they tended to not say much theme wise. Just people stood about.

He must have had interesting parents choosing that name (that unfornately died just 4 weeks after his birth).

I have an art background and usually not much 'shows up in my mind' when thinking of painters,
but if i had to choose for a favorite 'contemporary fine arts artist' I think would choose Anselm Kiefer.
I really like the documentary about him:

I also like the concepts and radical attitude of Marina Abramovic, I know thaere is a lot of conspiracy controversy about her, but who cares, and there are also great art movie documentaries from her:

Well, even though I do not care about the gossip surrounding her too much I wanted to add that the first guy she visits in the documentary is a 'miracle healer' that was uncovered to be an abusive criminal. Apart from that I still like the doc.
