I walked a long way: I started 27 years ago in wicca after reading Vivianne Crowley, later on in a non-wicca but wicca-derived coven. I left that for a lifelong solo study in magic. Not to sound grandiloquent, but I have an IQ above 140 and that doesn't fit very well in groups with people with an average IQ. So I needed to go solo and explore other paths as well. And I always liked to strip all those systems down to it's base and kind of throw out all the extra's out of the windows.

Finally I landed in demonology, chaos magic and folk/local magic, with a long period of being a armchair magician/witch in between. I do things in periods: a period of study and armchairing followed by a period of very intense practice. I have periods of working with tools and periods of working with magic with no tools at all, just in my mind. .. and I like the theories that are behind magic, I am a theorem-of-magic-kind-of-person.

I like to try and do my spells first and then I write them down if they work out so practice for sure :3
I like to lean more into chaos magic and try to put together stuff on the spot. I try to keep spell ingredients ready and stuff. I dont know much about blood magic but i do tend to use blood in a lot of my spells! I should definitely look more into it. My mom's side is from Ukraine and the women on that side all do some kinda magic but I mostly never participated. Recently I have been trying to get into it and it's very fun stuff.
I love making art and the majority of my magic spells go into giving me more freedom to make art.
I should probably put some spells in a song or a painting that would be very cool haha <3

I understand that most of you likely don't practice or study just one type magick, therefore the following list of choices is non-exhaustive, feel free to add your type of wizardry that defines you in your reply if not listed here.

If there are multiple choices applicable to you, select one that is your primary (feel free to share secondary as well), also please tell us more about how you approach it, e.g is it:
  • study focused
  • practice focused
  • commercial or advertising focused etc.

And most importantly, what do you like about it, why do you consider it more relevant to you than other types.
Tell us also about your ambitions and your end goals if you have any.

Here goes the list
  • Necromancy
  • Chaos magick
  • Elemental magick
  • Green magick (herbalism)
  • Divination
  • Witchcraft
  • Folk magick
  • High magick
  • Blood magic
  • Shadow magick
  • Sex magick
  • Enchantment magick

To answer first (and to be honest), I'm not much into any particular one however I'm serious about studying herbalism.
I'm aiming at establishing my own pharmacy for personal use one day, a hobby of sort.

I'm consider it more relevant than other because I'm able to interact with physical things (herbs) that have physical effect.
My secondary that I'm currently willing to study more about is elemental magick.
With regards to magic, witchcraft or whatever they are called. This entire list is just confusing everyone.

The key is understanding that your spirit, you who you truly are, not just the body and name you go by these days, knows so much more than you know, or what you think you know. And that is where the key is located to unleashing your (and your spirit’s) powers!

Get in real contact with your spirit and find out what ‘you two’ know!

For instance, when you or anyone else does a reading, to make it successful, be it Tarot, Akashia, Pendulum use etc., there are two things important to make the reading true and of use:

1) The person that does the reading should be a pure soul. When that person is darkness or has an agreement with the darkness, the reading will always be of interest to the darkness, not to you. It is as like the darkness has put a veil up around the truth, and for most people (pure souls) it is (still) impossible to see through that veil to see the truth.

2) The reader, being a pure soul, can be under the influence of darkness/demons/negative energies without knowing it. You must be freed or free yourself from that darkness before you do any reading. Otherwise, it will always be influenced and, as I put it, non-valid.

Freeing someone from darkness can be done very fast and effectively. There is no need to make a huge list of potential methods when your spirit knows how to do this, or you & your spirit learn how to do this.

There are many levels / strengths of darkness. Get trained, and the more often you face the darkness, the stronger you will become.

Personally I'm a practice focused mage, my goal is understanding by practice and exploration. I would say my main focus is on blood and folk magic, I want to learn more about enchantment works and the traditional witchcraft. One thing I say with out a thread of doubt in my heart is I loathe fortune telling, or more fully divination as a whole, not because I don't believe in it, because I do, and it makes me feel trapped in my fate.

From your list, I’ll define what I do as “high magick” though I’m not personally fond of the label. While I think study is absolutely essential, especially at first, study alone can’t afford me the type of change that I engage magick for, thus I’m practice-focused. On a daily basis I may occasionally skip study, but I never skip my daily magickal practices.

Ambitions/goals: I’m working to get back to the level of ability I had when I did magick circa 1995-2000. Magick gave me everything I wanted in life, but I focused on the mundane as a result and thus my practice faded away. Fast forward to the present—spiritual pain caused me to get back on the path (I was materially successful but lacked deeper meaning and purpose), and I’ve been doing magick again for a couple of years. Completed Abramelin in October 2025 and am now building a Golden Dawn style temple in my house, also doing a lot of work with my sphere of sensation and body of light. Once I get my temple built and my fundamental magickal skill back up to par, I’ll reconnect with the Enochian entities and continue the work I was doing with them.

Ultimately, I want my HGA to help me navigate the post-bodydeath experience so that I don’t have to reincarnate into a meatsack anymore.

I don't really know honestly, I'm a skeptical person by nature so by instinct my approach is always highly theoretical, usually paired with philosophy theories specially metaphysical discussions.

However I would be lying if I say I don't love Hermeticism, it's so intrinsically beautiful, complex and poetic. I do my best to extract my knowledge from there.

My end goal is to acquire knowledge, is that simple, knowledge is good, knowing is power.
