Recently I've decided to delve into mysticism and esotericism.

While listening to a YouTube video about sorcery, telepathy was mentioned. After listening to the instructions, I followed the steps and sent the feeling of a hug to my Mom.

The next day, my Mom calls me and mentioned that she was too busy to call the day before. That was an odd detail for her to mention. It seemed to confirm that my attempt at telepathy was successful.

Has anyone had experiences such as this?

I'd continue the experiments and get a little more data before making any conclusions. Magic/mysticism/telepathy/ESP really should be approached via the scientific method (in reality magicians were doing this way before the scientific method was ever established, reference the classical grimoires). Start recording everything you do and then in a few months or so look back at all of the results. Keep going!

Including (in "everybody's guide to natural ESP") a nice explanation about why it's unfortunate that ESP was kept as the term for this sort of phenomena!
I also recommend his writings to practice ESP in general, regardless of scientific experiments!
