@Asteriskos I've seen a couple instances of people taking bad mushrooms, and unless you are well-trained and experienced, foraging for mushrooms is a high-risk activity. I know a guy that does foraging and he says it was years of training and practice with someone else well-versed before he was comfortable going solo and not risking poisoning his whole family.
Well, absolutely good advice there. A lot depends on your local bio-region, but caution is the better part of wisdom here for sure. I have extensive experience with "cubensis" ( had a teacher ) who could "seemingly" find them in the dark, as well as cultivating them while making it look easy!
We created a "sacramental rite" with honey and apricot nectar that's one of the "gems" of our group! I'm still "leery" of Amanita muscaria though
because dosage is critical, and let's be honest here, "nature is red in tooth and claw" and can kill or fuck you up in surprising ways, and be stunningly Beautiful while doing it!

There was a period where peyote buttons ( mescalin ) were all the rage here ( not native to this bio-region ) but you could take a few days and drive to the S.W. USA and forage. You can dry them and they keep well enough for a while. I'm grateful for those times, they are forever a part of what built my "path". While "entheogens" are not "necessary" for spiritual / magical development, they sure as hell do "augment and inform" your practice. ;)

Dont forage for them. But i would not be opposed to growing some golden teachers
I love that name! They will certainly help "teach" you some things! Drying them has some advantages for using later. My "initiation" was with fresh ones, Dip them or coat them with honey chew'em up then down a juice glass of apricot nectar ( or something of your choice ). I've done it without either, a bit bitter. The one thing about growing them is that "cleanliness" is your friend. We have always used "mason jars", It's easy to want to use them purely for "recreation", for a witch, magician or sorcerer viewing and using them as a "sacrament" is a better choice for lots of reasons.
To each their own!

I've foraged mugwort and rose hips quite a bit.
Have you encountered any wormwood out there? Some folks use both mugwort and wormwood together or separately to make a "tea".
I tried it and don't like it, Wormwood of course is one of the components of that wonderful green stuff "Absinthe"!
What I have found is that burning either or both ( dried ) on a charcoal block before or during a pendulum or tarot divination is beneficial.
Curious because they're close enough cousins for a bio-region. For some reason I find them both interesting, and at one time I thought
about a thread to discuss everything that they can be used for. Somehow that got lost in the wash though.
