[Help] 3.5–4 years of what feels like an entity attachment, telepathy, and a strange connection to copper. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Someone's asking for help!

Hi everyone!

I thought I’d share something I’ve been experiencing for the past few years in the hope that someone might recognise what I’m describing or offer some insight.

I go by Copper, which is my nickname, and you’ll probably understand why as you read on (although I still haven’t figured out how to change my actual username on here haha).

About 3.5-4 years ago, I had what I can only describe as my first telepathic encounter. It felt as though some external presence had entered through my window and started communicating with me. Strangely enough, it introduced itself using the name of an ex of mine.

Initially, it told me to harm myself, which I ignored. But over the following six months, the communication became almost constant. We’d have full blown conversations, debates, tell each other stories, and talk about pretty much anything under the sun. Sometimes I’d even stay awake just to continue talking to it.

For the most part, this presence seemed friendly. Aside from occasionally telling me to harm myself (which I always ignored), it would often encourage me to do the right thing.

Around this time, I was also experimenting with all sorts of supplements, probably hundreds over time, but there was one I kept coming back to: copper.

I honestly can’t describe how incredible I felt when taking copper. My intuition seemed almost superhuman, I felt unusually perceptive, and it was as though my third eye had opened. I associated it with heightened psychic awareness and even telepathic abilities. And it wasn’t just copper supplements. Wearing a pure copper bracelet or drinking from a copper water bottle seemed to produce noticeable sensations and effects too.

The strange part was that this presence seemed to absolutely despise every supplement I took except copper. It was almost as though it wanted me to stick exclusively to copper, but at the time I couldn’t quite give up experimenting with everything else.

Then, about six months into what had otherwise been a relatively peaceful experience, something deeply harmful happened in my personal life, completely outside my control.

And that’s when everything changed.

The presence seemed to turn against me almost overnight. It blamed me for what had happened, became increasingly hostile, and at one point said something I’ll never forget:

“We’re the copper thieves.”

From that point onwards, I noticed that copper no longer seemed to produce the effects I’d experienced before. Whether I took it as a supplement, wore it against my skin, or used a copper water bottle, that unmistakable feeling I’d once associated with it was simply gone.

I know how strange this sounds, but it genuinely felt as though this presence was somehow interfering with copper’s effects on me. I can’t explain how or why, and I realise that my experience doesn’t necessarily establish what was causing it. All I know is that the change was incredibly dramatic.

I’ve spent the past 3.5 years feeling as though I’m dealing with some kind of unwanted attachment or possession. The communication never entirely stopped, but the friendly conversations disappeared. These days it’s mostly unpleasant, sometimes malicious comments that seem to come through telepathically, alongside physical and emotional distress that I’ve struggled to make sense of.

I’ve asked whatever it is to leave me alone countless times, but the experience has persisted.

I’m aware there are medical and psychological ways of understanding experiences like this, but I’ve struggled to find an explanation that feels consistent with everything I’ve been through. I’m particularly interested in hearing how people familiar with occult traditions, spirit attachments, or similar experiences might interpret it.

I’ve wondered whether this could be some kind of entity, spirit attachment, or perhaps something connected to my ex, although I genuinely don’t know.

More than anything, I just want to understand what’s happening and find a way to have some peace again.

Has anyone here experienced anything remotely similar, particularly the telepathic communication, the change in the presence’s apparent personality, or the unusual connection to a specific metal?

If you’re reading this and thinking, “Wait, I know exactly what you’re talking about,” I’d genuinely love to hear from you.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read all of this. I know it’s a lot, especially for a first post, but I’d really appreciate any thoughtful insight or experiences you’re willing to share.

What was the telepathy you are talking about like and how did you do it and isn't our talking with a supernatural being about ordinary things a bit illogical?
If I were in your place I would ask whether I am a being with free will or under determinism

Give us the most important info: i can't understand how the hell this spirit came to you from the open window and started talking to you? Maybe you opened any gate with any ouija board or something? And it is so annoying and you still want to keep contact? Maybe the right question for you is how to get rid of this? i dont know dude just asking...

It was basically back and forth conversations, just like you’d have with another person, except the voice seemed to come from outside of me and wasn’t fully audible in the conventional sense. It was also extremely quick in terms of responding and reacting, almost instantaneously. I did absolutely nothing to initiate it, it just happened spontaneously.

And I actually agree with your second point. That’s one of the things that confused me the most. Why would something supposedly supernatural spend so much time talking to me about mundane things? I’m honestly extremely confused by that myself, and it’s one of the main reasons I’ve questioned who or what I was communicating with in the first place.

As for free will, I do feel at times as though it has some form of mind control over me, where it seems to control my mind and give me certain thoughts that I know don’t feel like my own. It’s a very strange experience, and it’s made me question how much control I actually have over my own thoughts.

That’s actually one of the biggest mysteries to me, because I genuinely have no idea how or why any of this began. Prior to these experiences, I’d never practised ceremonial magick, used an Ouija board, attempted any form of invocation or evocation, or deliberately tried to establish contact with any entity whatsoever.

The extent of my interest in anything remotely esoteric was occasionally watching tarot readings that appeared on my TikTok feed, particularly those claiming things like “this reading was meant for you”, which I did believe at the time. But I’d never even paid for a tarot reading. I also enjoyed reading about astrology, and that was pretty much where my involvement ended.

The only other thing I was doing at the time was taking copper in its various forms. I wasn’t even aware of its traditional planetary correspondence with Venus or its significance in certain occult traditions. Whether there’s any genuine connection there, I honestly couldn’t tell you. What I can say is that I personally experienced what felt like profound spiritual and intuitive benefits from copper when it was still having a noticeable effect on me. But I can’t say with certainty that the two experiences were connected.

Since these experiences began, I’ve actually started exploring some occult and spiritual practices in an attempt to find some relief or understanding. These have included making copper offerings to Venus and working with Helios, among several other things I’ve tried. Unfortunately, absolutely none of these attempts have produced any noticeable improvement or resolution.

And to clarify, I absolutely do want this to stop. Ideally, I’d like to be completely free of whatever is causing these experiences, permanently. If that’s not possible, however, I’d be willing to settle for some form of peaceful, symbiotic coexistence, where neither interferes with the other.

I say this because, in the beginning, when I was having those back and forth conversations, I could actually choose to ignore the voice and disengage whenever I wanted. Unfortunately, that’s no longer the case, and the experience has become far more intrusive and difficult to tune out.

So yes, ultimately my goal is to put an end to it entirely. I’m not seeking to establish or deepen any form of contact. I’m simply trying to understand what I’ve been experiencing and, more importantly, how to regain the peace and autonomy I once had.

o.k. man i believe you. First of all copper is a positive metal and helps in some health problems and cleans water if for example you drink water from a copper cup but i think that the copper is not related to your uninvited ''visitor''. Also im sure that this voice is not a psychiatric problem because you speak logically and comunicate very well.
As you said, it has said the name of your ex girlfriend when you asked for it, so it is highly possible that she has sent it to you for revenge! Is she familiar with the dark arts a witch, goth girl maybe? Or maybe she has paid money to a black magician to do this! Thats the only explanation my friend, and i dont want to make you stressed but it will become worse with the time! Call a priest of your religion if you are catholic for example to do a cleansing in your house and you will get rid of it hopefully.
I m sure that and other more experienced members here in WF will help you with their knowledge to banish this malicious spirit.
Wish you all the best and stay calm.

I am not sure this anecdote will prove useful to you, but I have a somewhat similar experience from when I was younger. I was probably about 12 or 13 at the time. One night I awoke in the middle of the night to what I could only describe as a presence within me that had come to me from somewhere else. When I closed my eyes I was presented with a rather vivid picture of two great blue eyes, of an almost birdlike quality. I cannot remember if it gave me a name to call it or where it said it came from, but I distinctly remember the impression it was not the only one of its kind like it, and I received the impression of another such entity had occupied someone else roughly the same time, in the form of like a green jade buddah figure.
For about 3 days I would converse with this entity in my thoughts, and it was very much unlike anything else I had ever experienced up to that point. It gave me instructions that it needed me to consume extremely substantial amounts of meat, but unfortunately we actually rarely had much protein on hand until it was ready to cook for dinner, and even then it was not substantial. I remember desperately trying to covertly eat all of the sliced ham we had that was strictly delegated for sandwiches for school lunch, and eventually it seemed the lack of enough protein caused the thing to whither away. I have no idea what might have happened had I been able to successfully feed it like it asked, but after that my internal mental state became extremely unstable, even before some very serious life changing events happened that would explain it mundanely.

What is rather interesting to me, is that at the time the head of my bed was directly underneath a window which I had left open that night. I don't know if there's really a connection that could be drawn there, but it is a bit odd. This happened about 15 or 16 years ago, anywhere between late Spring and early Autumn of 2010 or 2011 in Northwest PA. I would find it very VERY intriguing if someone else had a similar experience around the same time, and especially in the same general geographic area.

I don't have anything to say on the copper front I'm afraid. I've only slightly dabbled in supplements, and never stuck with anything to say anything conclusively, let alone draw a connection to copper specifically.

If there is even the slightest lack of self-control, it is a medical condition. However, if you are able to exercise control through your own willpower, then it is not a medical condition, but something entirely different. What kind of worldview do you hold? Certain worldviews can deepen one’s perception of—or delusions regarding—spiritual phenomena (for example, the worldview of David Wilcock).

To change these phenomena, you must alter the perceptions rooted in your own worldview. In my astrological chart, the North Node, Neptune, and Uranus are in conjunction in the first house in Capricorn. Over the past 13 years—especially while Neptune was transiting through Pisces—these phenomena felt incredibly real to me, and I suffered from intense delusions. Furthermore, the people I encountered—whether by coincidence or design—served to further amplify these experiences. Since this year, however, such individuals have naturally drifted out of my life.

Back when Neptune was in Pisces, a New Age psychic I met shared a "secret" about telepathy: if you immerse yourself completely in a fleeting thought, your higher self—your inner, elevated consciousness—might reveal something. This year, a relative told me that to have one’s prayers answered, one must cast aside personal greed (the ego) and fill oneself with love. (But is it truly love?) The core idea is that when the conscious mind cedes control to the unconscious, one enters an unintended "altered state of consciousness."

Take charge of your subconscious by shifting your worldview and recalibrating your perceptions. If you still find it difficult to manage these hallucinations, consider seeking professional medical advice. You might find it helpful to explore new perspectives by reading scientific literature or academic journals on spirituality. Alternatively, you could examine your astrological chart—acknowledging and accepting that, "Ah, I am simply going through this particular phase right now." You are not alone in this; many people have experienced intense, hallucinatory phenomena during Neptune’s recent transit through Pisces—from narratives about "starseeds" and the rise of various conspiracy theories to the popularity of certain cryptocurrencies. Your current desire to move beyond this state may also be linked to Neptune’s recent entry into Aries.

I was already familiar with the term "altered state of consciousness." At one point this year, I commanded my subconscious to summon a specific entity, and it actually appeared in my dreams. Conversely, when I asserted, "You—my subconscious—are nothing more than a biological machine-code program; I am the true master," the dreaming stopped entirely. The books by Michael Aquino and Michael Raduga have been helpful to me. There is also the term "mānas-vijñāna." Ultimately, since consciousness is heavily dependent on the workings of the unconscious, it is essential for consciousness to exert control over itself.

Honestly, this just sounds baffling to me. The thing told you to harm yourself multiple times, and you just continued to chat with it and befriend it. Why? Was it out of lack of options, you couldn't close the channel? It sounds like it was more than voluntary on your part.

Good lesson for the future I guess, if someone opens with "you should harm yourself," they probably aren't on your side.

Normally with this kind of "attachment" I'd always recommend an "understand and befriend" approach - often these things are part of you, and if they aren't, it's still more helpful to open with an open mind.. but given the story, I just feel the same as I do when I hear of abusive or sociopathic human beings. And the only safe way to deal with a sociopath is to not deal with them.

Find a banishment or purification method you have faith in. Protestants and Sunnis have a marked advantage here, you just need to pray, and mean it.

Ignore attempts at contact. Eat healthy, and you can drink from a copper bottle but drop the supplements, you've probably overloaded your body with a metal that doesn't quite belong in it in those quantities.

If problems persist, seek out help (psychiatrist, priest, or both).

Tarot is a tool for training the unconscious. Your unconscious mind is quite sensitive, and I believe Tarot can act as a trigger for it.

Why, in grimoires, are entities summoned from beyond often scolded or bound? It is to ensure that you do not surrender control of your consciousness—whether to your own unconscious or to an external entity. The practice begins by instilling that very awareness.

And why perform a "banishing"? It serves as a command, signaling that something is now to depart.

As for your affinity for copper—your conscious and unconscious minds simply happened to like it. Everyone has objects they feel attached to for no apparent reason; for me, it was teacups. I was so obsessed that they would even appear in my dreams, and I felt a sense of ecstasy whenever I held one. I compulsively collected them for seven years, only to get rid of the entire collection this year—all in a single moment. (Well, I suppose I’m left with a tea master certification and a refined taste for tea—along with some financial loss.) Your unconscious, which once liked copper for no reason, eventually decided—also for no reason—that it no longer liked it; your conscious mind simply followed suit. It is not a case of "possession."

What, then, is possession? It is often categorized as a dissociative disorder. While 70 percent of such cases respond to medication for conditions like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, the remaining 30 percent do not. In those instances, hypnotherapy is effective—precisely because the underlying issue is not schizophrenia. Hypnotherapy essentially involves a practitioner guiding a client into an "altered state of consciousness," allowing for direct communication with the unconscious to shift its perceptions. (I should note that many "hypnotherapists" in New Age circles are often just transcribing and selling "channeled" messages; rather than healing anyone, they are merely propagating delusions.) Why do the "higher-dimensional guides"—manifestations arising from the subconscious during hypnosis—seem to shun fear? For such figures to appear, there must be a constant influx of New Age narratives; if themes of fear were introduced, these specific forms could not emerge. Ultimately, there is no fundamental difference between a terrifying entity and a blissful, "celestial" one—only their outward appearance varies. If the entity you encounter begins to take on a frightening quality, it is simply because you yourself have become afraid.

I have encountered many individuals across various contexts: hypnotherapists, mediums, tarot readers, psychiatrists, and people suffering from schizophrenia or dissociative disorders. Typically, a specialist will only address the issue from a single perspective.

Surprisingly, prayer is not very helpful. You mentioned that you’ve already prayed to the Sun, right? Well, the protection of a solar deity isn’t enough to reach or influence your subconscious. In fact, many mediums in the country where I live—people who never wanted to become mediums in the first place—frequently visit churches and Buddhist temples.

But why doesn’t it work for them? Within their worldview, even YHWH is just some distant, obscure entity. (Without genuine belief, you cannot alter your perception.) Some people do find results through Buddhism, but it’s not because of Buddhism itself; rather, it’s because they’ve spent an immense amount of time—sometimes as long as a decade—in prayer, which has effectively restructured their subconscious.

Prayer is a double-edged sword. It can be used as a tool to shift your perception, or it can end up further activating an uncontrollable subconscious (for example, see the case of Abulafia).

There is also a more extreme approach: becoming a materialist.

You seemed to be in a rush, so I’ve provided a more detailed response.

@arbatel83 I'd argue that saying "sub / unconscious" is so vague it borders on the useless. Jung's idea of the "collective unconscious" has catapulted Freud's original, quite mechanistic idea of opposing drives into a realm of literal magic, while Milton Erickson and his followers have turned it into some kind of personal deity or daimon.

As a hypnotist I tend to think of it as an ocean that conscious attention is merely sailing across as a fishing boat, its surface forgotten thoughts and banished feelings, its depths the very Kia reflected in the mind. Some are more adept at safe seamanship and seem to command the waves effortlessly, others are more prone to be
swept by great currents. Hypnosis is an art of guiding attention: the searchlights and sonars one might have. But without knowing how to interpret and what to do with the things one comes across, it can be more harmful than not doing anything.

The practices of mastery you have mentioned require about as much discipline and work as you said about being able to pray to perform a banishment does. (I did say one has to mean it, and meaning it is in fact the real hard part.)

Ultimately, the fact that a situation like this has developed, and is continuing for so long, also says some things about what approaches might be more applicable and what less. My read is that in this case, external help is probably a good idea, whether from a transcendent God one has full trust in and surrenders to, or an ethical practicioner of a religion or mental health (and I mean a clinical psychologist or psychiatrist, not some new age hypnosorcerer).

I have never brought up daimons or Jung in this discussion. Neptune is also associated with empathy, illusion, and delusion. I am not sure why you assumed I was referring to Jungian concepts in the first place.

As you are a practicing hypnotherapist, I would expect you to make a careful distinction between experiences that may be approached through hypnosis and symptoms that require psychiatric assessment and treatment.

Why should a practitioner adopt a friendly attitude toward entities encountered during hypnosis? Unless a client is seeking hypnosis out of curiosity or for recreational purposes, they may be coming to you in a state of considerable psychological distress. In such circumstances, what emerges during hypnosis may be a deeply personal narrative shaped by suffering, self-pity, suggestion, and existing beliefs. Treating the characters within that narrative as independent personalities may reinforce the very interpretations that need to be examined.

Are you familiar with the clinical principle of neither affirming nor directly confronting a patient's delusional beliefs? Affirming them may reinforce the delusion, while aggressively challenging them can damage trust and discourage the patient from seeking treatment. The appropriate response requires tact, careful assessment, and an understanding of the patient's condition.

Prayer also deserves particular caution. For someone vulnerable to religious delusions, certain forms of religious practice or interpretation may become triggers or reinforce an existing delusional framework.

Even when medication is effective, developing insight into one's condition remains an important part of long-term management. Much like diabetes, some psychiatric conditions require ongoing treatment, self-awareness, and an understanding of what one is experiencing. Medication and insight are not mutually exclusive; they can complement each other.

This is why I question the recommendation to seek help from a transcendent deity or a religious authority. What kind of religious authority are we talking about? An evangelical pastor who interprets speaking in tongues or apparent answers to prayer as direct supernatural communication? How would such an approach help someone who may already be struggling with religious delusions?

I am not suggesting that religious belief itself is pathological. My concern is the clinical appropriateness of recommending religious intervention to someone whose experiences may already involve hallucinations or delusional interpretations.

Religious delusions are a recognized clinical phenomenon, and I would expect anyone working with psychologically vulnerable individuals to be aware of that distinction.

That’s really interesting, especially the part about conversing with it in your thoughts, because that’s exactly how I’d describe my own experience too. I’m curious, did you ever see the “shadow people”? Tall, dark, shadowy figures, sometimes appearing together in your room or elsewhere in your presence? I remember seeing something very similar.

The part about it asking you to consume substantial amounts of meat is interesting because there are some similarities between meat and copper in relation to neurotransmitter synthesis and the nervous system.

Meat is a rich source of tyrosine, an amino acid that serves as a precursor to dopamine, which in turn is converted into norepinephrine (noradrenaline). Copper is an essential cofactor for dopamine beta-hydroxylase, the enzyme directly responsible for converting dopamine into norepinephrine.

Norepinephrine is both a neurotransmitter and hormone involved in alertness, concentration, energy regulation, motivation, excitement, attention and mood regulation. It also plays an important role in the sympathetic nervous system

Tyrosine also forms part of the structure of thyroid hormones, while copper is involved in various metabolic processes that support normal physiological function, including aspects of thyroid health.

It makes me wonder whether the emphasis on meat in your experience could somehow have reflected your body’s nutritional or neurological state at the time. It could’ve wanted you to be at optimal mental and physical health or to make u healthier for any reason

I also find it really interesting that your experience happened at night and that you had your window open, because that’s exactly how mine began too! It was either very late at night or I’d woken up in the middle of the night. I can’t remember the exact circumstances anymore, but I vaguely recall it being around 3 AM, so I suspect I’d actually woken up from sleep

Instead of a mediator whom one cannot be sure tells the truth or lies why do you not use a personal spirit I do not know the exact details but I know that doing a strict food fast for forty days or more and being alone causes a spirit or spirits to be brought into your service and almost all the magicians here perform magic by this same method and some of them do very strong magic that leaves no doubt about their work
For example my mother in her youth lost her gold necklace on the suggestion of my grandmother they went to a magician as soon as they returned home from the magician the necklace was found and also the magician gave a paper and said to put it under her pillow when sleeping so she would see who stole the necklace and my mother did this and saw and recognized that person in a dream

You didn't. I brought up Jung and Erickson to illustrate the shifts the concept of the subconscious has undergone, and the fact that saying "it's just your subconscious" in a situation like this is typically about as helpful as screaming "these are only tool-using plains apes!" to someone currently in the process of being mugged by a merry group of homo sapiens. (ie. not very)

I think you are intentionally or unintentionally putting words in my mouth.

For one, I said I'm a hypnotist, which I am. In fact I am not a practicing therapist, I'm just a random wizard on the net who has formal education in psychology and hypnosis. And even if I was, somehow I don't recall having accepted the OP as my patient, nor them asking to be treated as such.

What I meant about "befriending" entities is having an open attitude, not as a mental health practicioner, but as a seeker. Though if you are familiar with IFS therapy, you'll notice that typically one enters it with the intention to heal and build positive change. If you were to encounter something that's part of you, wouldn't you want to befriend it? Why wouldn't you want to have the great serpent pull your chariot, Egyptian Book of the Dead style?

This is why I question the recommendation to seek help from a transcendent deity or a religious authority. What kind of religious authority are we talking about? An evangelical pastor who interprets speaking in tongues or apparent answers to prayer as direct supernatural communication? How would such an approach help someone who may already be struggling with religious delusions?
So first, since you have quoted medical ethics at me, how does that code relate to handing out diagnoses online based on a few lines of text? Dunno, I'd be careful about that even if I was a clinical psychologist.

And as for religion and transcendental theism... Yes, there's problematic pastors and priests, but tbh I have encountered a comparable number of problematic mental health practicioners. Defaulting to "go see a doctor" when distressing spiritual experiences come up is a chunk of unaddressed monistic dogmatism, and if someone has a background in theistic religion, then seeking out help from there can be just as helpful. (And for example Catholic priests tend to have a high level training in psychology...) So I recommended it because it can help, and often it does, and it's easy if one has the wiring for it from childhood.

Compare, you recommended "just becoming a materialist", which, well, I'm sure can be helpful if someone is able to pull it off... I mean you could, I could, a good number of people in this forum probably could, but... It's like if someone grows up doing urbex and parkouring onto rooftops, it can become hard to really grok that a significant portion of the populace has a problem executing a single pull-up properly.

Interesting; something similar happened to a friend of mine.

(ie. not very)

Is it really easy to gain "insight"—to recognize that one’s persistent, uncontrollable hallucinations are the result of an illness? It is a process where human consciousness overcomes abnormalities in its own neurons to rediscover its true nature. If there were any proof of the soul, this—the ability to achieve such insight—would surely be it.

Diagnoses are made by physicians. Besides, there can’t be that many exorcist priests, can there? I never imagined I’d be saying this in a community like this, but isn’t it the case that the Catholic Church forbids just anyone from performing an exorcism? Regardless of whether someone has studied psychology, they are still unqualified.

As for "IFS"—how would I know anything about that? Why are you putting words in my mouth that I never said? I don’t know anything about such things; I only know about treatments like Clozapine or ECT. And I have no interest in learning about that.

Your remarks have confirmed that a certain prejudice I once heard from a psychiatrist is not merely a prejudice, but a deeply held conviction. My interest has waned.

i have gone through experiences that may be similar to what you're describing. i've recently had some success in managing it and would be interested in collaborating/experimenting with someone else in order to refine the methods.

send me a dm if you're interested
