This is pretty cool . A modern pagan posted pretty a inclusive intro to the Hellenic world that Rome inherited, (and let's be fair, partially took) - and managed until it fell.

The author is a bit more pagan and bit more right-wing than I ( going on about Canadian identity. Ignore that part) but the history is an pretty great introduction to that forgotten, invisible landscape Western Magic and mystical philosophy comes from. For a historical picture for of where most of all this stuff began, and where it sits in relation to each other, this post is not a bad place to start.
