when I was younger, I faced a lot of different hardships and troubles as a kid which I won't get into here. but at one point so fed up with the state of my life and hardships me my family and the people around me faced I consciously thought to myself and prayed and pleaded to both god and the devil asking them to condemn my soul to eternal hell after death for the means and capability to make change in the world for the better while I lived.

about 20 years later now I don't know what's become of that plea, but I feel I've been able to make a lot of changes for the better regardless of if it was due to a Nieve pact with divinities made by a child or just plain effort on my part.

this has led me to find an interesting question I like to ask people. "If you could make a deal to have the ability to massively change the world for the better in your life but after you die, be subject to hell for eternity, would you"

I've come surprised to find most everyone I ask says no, given I change the wording of the question depending on the situation, but it seems more then less people would not. so how about yourself :)

Heh.
I don't believe in the god or the devil. But I can bet that in some situations it damn feels that eternity in hell would be salvation and going into paradise. So I can definitely imagine myself doing just that. I would have to have different worldview that I sued to have or have now, but yes. The answer is yes.

I would say yes because why not explore hell? But about the changing part here on earth, I think there are places enough where people already made a 'hell' of it. That was even so in history. I don't think that is about to change, the human nature has very aggressive parts. ... (But I have to admit, I don't really believe in hell and never did)

(This is a thought expierment so I'm going that heaven and he'll both exist here but I don't know)

I'd say I don't know if eternity is real at this point but to make the world a better place then I'll go for however long I'm condemned.

I don't like heaven because I don't think I would like the people there. I think heaven would just be a place where the privileged go to have fun and forget about those below.

Some of my family might be in hell if it exists. I want to be there for them in hell because atleast its not paradise. So I would take the offer. But this offer. What does better mean?

I would make sure it would actually do something practical and beneficial so that better cannot be interpreted as better to whoever is offering me this deal.

Like maybe if I go people find a better way to resource allocate so that hunger isn't such a widespread issue. Or that the power grid is better protected. Or biodiversity is less threatened everyday.

I'm not going to let my choice be used in vein because I'm assuming if this offer were actually given to me itd be by some deity or something and deities that offer that I've heard have tricks. Its like a monkeys paw. A horrible monkeys paw.

That's my answer

It really is just. I can't do the reward. I try to help out but I'm not in it for the reward and I hope if the deities exist they respect my decision.

You know if I do enough good maybe if they exist they'll let me decide. And if they don't let me decide then it was worth a shot. And if they don't exist or dont exist in the way I think of it then hurray. Hurray. Yay.

I'm so tired.
