I've always been an active sleeper/dreamer, until recently. I've been having far less dreams and when I do, they're all foggy or short, but that's just when I'm in deep sleep. After my REM dreams stopped happening, I noticed I've become a lighter sleeper and am more prone the "dreams" that happen right before one fall asleep. I theorize that stress and the lack of focus I have on my dreams because of said stress could be causing this somewhat.

To the main point, I was wondering if anyone has another point of view on this or perhaps some advice on how to get back to my dreams/lucid dreams.

Have you started any new medications, or stopped taking any? Any diet changes? I think you should look at mundane reasonings for this, since details that are easy to look over can throw off sleep cycles/rhythm/quality.

It could also be uncontrollable circumstances, like getting older or the weather changing.

Source: I've struggled with sleep a loooong time so I've talked to my doctor and have done research on it

Do you keep any notes with your dreams? It really helps to remember more, if you write all you can remember when you wake up in the morning and still remember at least anything. You can even record verbally with the phone's mic what you've seen and decipher it later.
