The Al-Buni Manuscripts Collection presents the first complete English translations of works attributed to Ahmad ibn Ali al-Buni (d. 1225 CE), the most widely respected author in the Arabic occult and theurgical manuscript tradition. Al-Buni's writings on the divine names, the science of letters, talismanic practice, and Sufi spiritual wayfaring have circulated continuously for eight centuries across North Africa, the Levant, and the Indian subcontinent, yet until now no complete English renderings existed. Each volume preserves the three-layer format standard for Islamic esoteric texts: a full English translation, ALA-LC transliteration of every prayer, Quranic verse, and invocation, and the original Arabic script. Illustrations, magic squares, and talismanic diagrams are reproduced directly from the source manuscripts. The collection spans much of al-Buni's major works: from the monumental Shams al-Ma'arif al-Kubra, the Barhatiyya, the Great Jaljalutiyya, through treatises on the angelic sciences, protective talismans, the science of letters and numbers, and collections of litanies and invocations, to extended guides on spiritual wayfaring through the stations of the Sufi path. Works by al-Buni's contemporaries and predecessors — including al-Shadhili and Ibn al-Mar'ah — are included where they were traditionally copied and transmitted alongside his writings.
