I've been getting more into dealings with spirits in the last few months, and as a birdwatcher I feel somewhat of an affinity with Decarabia, the first marquis under the king of the south and the 69th goetic spirit, also named Cornyx, Carabia, and Cambra, who appears as a swan (according to David Crowhurst) or a star (there's an asterisk in Pseudomonarchia Daemonum, but I am skeptical that this literally means the physical appearance of a star) and has knowledge of birds and precious stones and makes all kinds of birds appear tamely before the magician. Some sources also state she provides knowledge of herbs and plants as well, which matches nicely with my other hobbies, growing orchids and bonsai.
So it seems like a perfect fit, right? There's a birdwatching event I'll be attending in late May over the course of Memorial Day weekend, and until then I plan to continue building a bit of a working relationship and we'll see if we can conjure up some rare birds on the trip. Recently for about a month now I've been coding my morning meditation with a steel sigil of Decarabia worn around my neck (Solomon's pentagram on the back) an a paper sigil present on my meditation altar. I have had some experiences with this, most notably one morning when it felt distinctly as if someone was touching my neck and the very strong feeling of there being a physical presence to my right side. I've also been making some small offerings, incense of jasmine and mugwort and cups of hot tea which seem to reoccur as a favored beverage in the reports of other people who have done similar things. A few days ago I did notice some unusually tame behavior from some birds as I went on a local birding trip, there were clouds of swallows swirling around that didn't seem to care at all when I walked through them, and there's a spot I always check for Shrikes when I'm in the area, this time was occupied by a Red-Tailed Hawk that just lazily looked at my car as I rolled slowly by, had I been in the passenger seat I could have reached out and nearly touched him.
So I'll consider this an initial report, and will update with any further experiences if they come up between now and the trip, and will try to make a report on any potentially magical or supernatural experiences on the trip itself at a later time.
