Hey there my previous posts was about my friend who wouldn't leave me alone, fortunately I did use the closet for my "altar", its primitive but it works. Is there any ritual anyone dide here to "get it started", something official like a baptism of sorts?.

Initiation is not necessary. You can do it, but the purpose is in fact your vow to do the work, not unlocking the doors. Though mentally it can be used to manipulate your mind into believing it.
Baptism can be done in thousand ways, many completely invisible by surroundings. You can also make rite of passage in many ways. Even some that cannot be taken back, like circumcision, or a tattoo, but such rituals, if you want them to be serious, have to be taken seriously for sure.

Though honestly I consider baptism to be just a "membership approved" ritual of Christianity rather than much else. Real changes usually do not happen planned ahead...

I made a video on the topic of value of initiation rituals, if you are interested...

Initiations can be huge game changers. If we're talking about the church baptism then that gave me a complete format-c with permanent changes. Even right now many years after it took place, I feel completely different than what I used to be. It's like getting a permanent channel connected to the system. It's always there. Before you feel like a PC without network, suddenly you're connected and nothing will be the same again. It's most effective if it's done in either RC or Orthodox church, in a special state after years of working with prayers. Even better if it's on a minor holiday, but many priests wouldn't agree to do it on holidays. Others don't care.

Some specific ones are done in cemeteries to get connected. A specialist connects you with the system. This isn't really my thing so I can't comment. I've just heard it's "damn effective" for those who walk/work the path.

Some of them don't seem to have an effect, one that didn't do anything was when somebody told me to say the shahada (for joining Islam) this was before the baptism. Absolutely nothing happened. It didn't improve anything, there was no serious ritual done, just a sentence. I'm guessing the baya done with shayks might do something, some claimed it connected them better. I don't know, maybe, never took the baya pledge thing. I recited it a few times though but not with a shayk

Heh, that makes sense. Some serious work beforehand definitely can make it worth going through.

I agree that initiation is necessary only if you feel you actually need it. (Also, you may undergo many different initiations while you proceed in your research).
On the other hand, I'd advise to keep track of the date you decide to start (both the actual beginning, and any date you begin something new, like a new topic or a specific ritual). Keeping a journal is the best way to do that. One day, knowning exactly when you started may come in hand (especially if you need to check the astrological chart of that moment. There may be revelations hidden there).

Ah one more thing to add to my first reply. Special holiday + when the icon in the middle has the same saint name as the one you're getting. In the church there's some icon on a stand in the middle.
When there's a connection there it can give a bigger effect.
