Anyone k ow a good source for reasonable priced owl feathers and other bird bones and parts? In my country you have to prove ancestry to purchase them from inside said country however you can import them. Anyways any suggestions would be amazing thank you guys in advance. Human bones are easier to get here which is silly.

Looking for
Screech owl or any owl feathers bones
Vulture feathers and bones
Hyena skin teeth
Viper skin teeth bones

Have a look on Ebay, a lot of sellers will post to foreign countries.
I've tried that and etsy allot of them are super expensive tho it was awhile ago so maybe they have new more reasonably priced goods

Also I need these to be ethically sourced that very important. Anything less would be a slap in the face of both the animals and serve to undermine any rituals thay are used in.

I get all my remains from dead animals I find I live in the mountains & nature is everywhere the other day we passed a dead porcupine & if it wasn't on such a sharp turn I would of grabbed some quills & claws

nice. I do try and keep a lookout bit I live in the city now and I dont drive much so the opportunity isnt really there and I think if I tried to get an Uber driver to pull over while I collected a dead animal it may be an issue though if I did find what I was looking for you can bet I would definitely try it.

Lol they would be so freaked out yah.. I've only ordered stuff like that once & got fake bones so I don't know any reliable sites. But most likely you need to find a site based on africa or such but doubt they'd be legal

True for the hyena definitely. I've also thought if volunteering at a raptor rehab facility if I had the transportation I would definitely do it. After I move I should be able to. But that still doesn't cover the hyena skin and bones just the bird feathers

In the United States, outside of ancestral circumstances like you mention, it is a crime to trade in or possess the remains of birds covered by the migratory bird treaty act (despite the name this is not limited to only migratory birds). the specific categories of birds you can possess and trade remains of are game birds, so things like pheasant, quail, and a number of ducks etc. While it's unlikely, it's possible that anyone listing these items for sale online to that country could be part of a law enforcement sting. Note that it does not matter legally if those parts are from a hunted animal or one you found on the side of the road.

From what I understand if they are sourced from non native species they don't fall under the act so imports should be fine. Unless otherwise covered in that countries protected species act.

When I have the money and time to hire someone to do my genealogy research it won't be as much and issue or when I more from here but that still leaves the here and now it's a pain.

It also applies to covered species in Mexico, Canada, Japan, and Russia, so you could be in violation if you had parts of a Russia-endemic species that does not occur in the United States, for example
