What is the significance of sacrificing animals in rituals and consuming their livers? How do practitioners do it without having health risks? Also is it compulsory or are they substitutes?

Never heard of this and also would never do. My practice is a lot of energy-based and involves also working with the Angels, Deities, Astrology etc and I do not need to do any animal sacrifice whatsoever. I'm in fact really pro-animal safety so why would I eat and sacrifice the liver of the piggie.

This is not something I have ever heard of, certainly in modern times. Although ofc if you own a pig farm...

I personally believe that this kind of thing is unnecessary nonsense.

Otherwise I recommend fava beans and a nice Chi

In Jake Stratton Kent's book Cyprian's book of spirits there were many rites where it said "Sacrifice the animal and consume it's liver. I was surprised too and no one ever brought it up that I know of

In she of the night the author talks about the importance of sacrifice though he didn't condone nor condemn it

It's really weird. I skimmed through that pdf a little. I cannot say that I agree with sacrifices.

I am not into worshipping or working with Demons either.

Its an extension of early sympathetic magic ; you eat the smart animals brain to get smart , the brave animals heart to get courage , etc They saw the liver as an organ that controlled a lot more in the body than we think today .... a type of 'brain / heart ' , seat of the soul and life - of course this is general, it changes in detail over time and location .

Practioners that want to do this probably go to the butcher to get their liver , that should not be a health risk .

Unless you have some plan to sacrifice the animal yourself tear out the liver and eat it .....

I cant think who would make it compulsory and to whom .... what an unusual question !

Certainly there are substitutes ; take some mineral and vitamin supplements and some protein .
