I figured I'd add humor. This seemed the best section for it. This thread is for stories of animals interrupting rituals and occult stuff. Here's a few of mine:

*I have to be careful with tarot cards. Why? Because my cats see me paying attention to the cards and not them they'll sit on them. I also have an issue with one of them grabbing my pendulums whenever I try to use them.

*I like doing movement based rituals. All four of the dogs I live with are large herding dogs. If one of my housemates lets them out to go pee when I'm doing a ritual outside I'm screwed. They make it their mission to herd my ass because I moved and it's game time.

*one the cats has claimed my altar to Bastet. How typical. Problem is its over my head and there's tons of books on that same shelf. I cant close my door to keep the cats out because the litterboxes are in my room. One of these days imma be laying on my bed asleep and he's going to knock one them books on my head.

*One the cats gets mad if I play certain ritual music and turn it off before he's finished listening. He really likes certain songs.

*I was observing one the dogs and taking notes for a shape-shifting ritual. He would not let me. He kept pawing me because attention. I ended up having to record my notes after observation not during.

Cats are truly something else. Sometimes they would just keep quiet in random places and stay there in complete peace, oblivious or indeferent of the world around them, in an almost cynical meditation of their own. I wonder what they dream about.

“At the railroad station he noted that he still had thirty minutes. He quickly recalled that in a cafe on the Calle Brazil (a few dozen feet from Yrigoyen's house) there was an enormous cat which allowed itself to be caressed as if it were a disdainful divinity. He entered the cafe. There was the cat, asleep. He ordered a cup of coffee, slowly stirred the sugar, sipped it (this pleasure had been denied him in the clinic), and thought, as he smoothed the cat's black coat, that this contact was an illusion and that the two beings, man and cat, were as good as separated by a glass, for man lives in time, in succession, while the magical animal lives in the present, in the eternity of the instant.” - Jorge Luis Borges

The dog sometimes want to be there when I have work to do, sometimes not. Can't really figure out when and why. I don't think there is a real pattern. The only thing I figured out that he assists me when did put my glasses somewhere and can't remember where. Which can be a problem. My eyesight is so bad I can't see my glasses without glasses.
